K3 Visa worth it?

So i have submitted a i-130 for my spouse in india, and i am estimating roughly 15 months before she gets her visa. I know a lot of people say that attempting to get K3 visa is a waste of time and money.. but the I-130 process has really slowed down especially with the Nebraska service center. so i was wondering with estimated time of 15 months if K3 would still be waste.. i know i would have to file for adjustment of status once my spouse is here, but really i just care about the time it takes for my spouse to be with me in the USA.

The K-3 is so seldom issued that your chances would be infitesimal.  It is obsolete.

The CR-1 visa is superior, regardless.

The wait-times are what they are.

the k3 is obsolete, even if the i129f is free of charge, It takes the same amount of time to be approved as the i130 and at the nvc stage they will administratively close the form and continue with consular processing. that's why it's a waste of time.

so this is a moot point now because i am married already, but just wondering what the timeline would of been if i had tried for K1 visa.

I think you just need to deal with the fact that you will wait over a year for a visa.

The K1 visa is taking roughly a year. Everything is taking longer now. A few years ago a K1 took only about 4 - 5 months.

 

I agree with TBone and Roel that you have to come to terms that this is going to be a long wait. You have to realize that there are millions that are in the same waiting scenario as you.

K1 right now takes about 185 days to approve. Then the fiancé still needs to go to the embassy and, depending on the country, this can take another 2 to 3 months. An estimate of 10 months from filing till POE is not abnormal.

Due to the nature of the CR1 (being cheaper and immediately getting a greencard upon POE) it is far superior to the K1. You made a good choice.

 

And yes, we are all waiting, waiting, waiting....
