From what I understand, it looks like employment-based and fiancé (K1) based interviews will no long longer be eligible to be waived according to the updated policy.

January 24, 2018: EAD/AP Combo Card in hand

August 9, 2018: AOS Interview (Approved)

August 9, 2018: "Card in Production"

August 16, 2018: Green card in hand

 

 

May 2020: ROC!

Welcome to Trumplandia!!! This is just going to delay applications even further and further. My fiance and I are just going to apply for AOS in a couple of weeks. What a drag. :angry:

9/5/2018                     We are still reviewing your case and there are no updates at this time (this is getting boring!!!)

10/3/2018                  We are still reviewing your case and there are no updates at this time (this is insanity, 4th time while some got GC)

10/17/2018                After 136 days of wait in HELL, finally EAD in production

10/21/2018                Card was mailed to me, and yes it said so on a Sunday night, while Vj-ing

10/22/2018                Card was picked up by the USPS

10/24/2018                EAD in hand. F%^&& finally

12/28/2018                Interview has been scheduled. Waiting for notification with date by snail mail

We had an AOS interview from a K1 marriage and we actually think it sped up the process.  Back then (March 2015), there were many people clamoring to get an interview since the waivers were taking up to a year or more before the applicant was approved and received the GC (Katya got her GC in a little over 5 months).  Many folks had to extend their AP/EAD card due to the delay and I remember countless people complaining about getting an interview waiver letter.  I have no idea if this policy change will speed up the process, or slow it down as we all know,  tomorrow things may change with USCIS, but it might just be a good thing.

Visa Received : 2014-04-04 (K1 - see timeline for details)

US Entry : 2014-09-12

POE: Detroit

Marriage : 2014-09-27

I-765 Approved: 2015-01-09

I-485 Interview: 2015-03-11

I-485 Approved: 2015-03-13

Green Card Received: 2015-03-24 Yeah!!!

I-751 ROC Submitted: 2016-12-20

I-751 NOA Received:  2016-12-29

I-751 Biometrics Appt.:  2017-01-26

I-751 Interview:  2018-04-10

I-751 Approved:  2018-05-04

N400 Filed:  2018-01-13

N400 Biometrics:  2018-02-22
