Jamaica Embassy - Question re: sending documents

My fiancé had his interview on April 27th, and we were approved. We have been in AP status since then and I have sent 2 separate emails inquiring about the status of his visa being issued. Last Thursday, we received a response back saying all documents have been received and his visa is ready for printing. But today, I received a response back from my first inquiry stating they didn't receive his original BC and were trying to reach my fiancé by phone however because they were calling from a private number my fiancé did not answer the call and the embassy didn't leave a message. The email says to submit as soon as possible and it has to be the original. The crazy part about all of this is at the interview we provided ALL ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS to the officer and she gave back his BC. Was she not suppose to do that?

My question is this (particularly those that have dealt or dealing with the JA Embassy), do we go back into the JA US Visa appointment site and click on the "consular section instructed me to send more documents" and if so, can he just upload his original or does he have to send via DHL? Is there anything else has to submit or mail with his original BC? I'm currently back in the US so I want to be sure I explain to him how and what exactly he needs to do.

Also, when calling the embassy, I can NEVER get anyone on the phone so of course I responded back to the email but it takes them forever to respond back. Is there a telephone # I can use to call to speak with someone directly or what prompting do I hit through the automated section of the call? I just don't want to send his original BC in without speaking with someone.

Thank you in advance!

You should wait on the Embassy's email reply to advise on how to send them the original BC. From past experiences when I send an email, I would get a response the next day usually after 1pm.

Try again if it is more than 2 days. Calling them may be a dead-end.

Good Luck!

I actually was able to speak to a customer service rep when I called the U.S. embassy number (after calling 3 times and pressing different options during the automated call). He had to send it in DHL. It will be delivered tomorrow.

The embassy still hasn't responded back to me since yesterday, SMH!

But thank you for responding! :D

Hopefully yours will go faster than mine because it seems the K1 Visa process is starting to regulate slowly where it's not taking as long as as it was last year to get the NOA2. Tomorrow my fiance is flying here so we can finally be together.

The whole experience was hard and emotionally draining but worth it when you're fighting to be with the one you love. The embassy experience wasn't hard but it was an all day process. I put my review on the Jamaica portal if you want to read it.

Only advice I can give is to find and have a lot of patience, make sure you do your research to fully understand the whole process because it doesn't stop after you get the K1 visa, that's the first step to many more when dealing with the government and make sure your relationship is built on a solid foundation from the beginning.

Good luck on your journey!

Yes, it moved along nicely. I hope it continues on that path.

I hope yours will be speedy as well. A little advice -

Try to avoid RFE (these take time and can push you back a month or more) by sending them all requested documents and some... When in doubt send them anyway - everything is EVIDENCE BASED - so in dealing with USCIS, it is always better to send more than less.

Good luck.
