This is my 12th time trying - I too will have to do it all over again next year. I have not been selected :(

Good luck to those who did get selected

Around 5 months to open for registration

Let's all put a smile on our face and hope to be selected, or at least a job offer lool

No you are not selected. Be mindful. Some countries are excluded from the DV all together. Consider it a blessing even being able to apply. 😁

I hope so, but i guess I wont win anyway since it says I wasn't selected right? Or has everyone received this message?

I read about one person who one in another local forum.

I played 3 times and checked twice. once in the beginning and the second time 5 months later to check if anything changes. Checking the website costs you 2 minutes. Don't get your hopes up there because the chances are very, very, very slim. Since you have not been selected now, I do not think you'll suddenly see a change in your result.

Look at this site for understanding the DV lottery

 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diversity_Immigrant_Visa

it says in 2017 20 million (20,000,000) applied and they give out only 50,000 visas

Many who are chosen on the 1st step do not meet the qualifications and are then denied

If selected, to qualify for the immigrant visa, they must have completed at least a high school education or at least two years of work experience in an occupation which requires at least two other years of training or experience.[18] They must also satisfy general immigration requirements, such as means of support, no criminal background, and good health.

Many do not meet these requirements

Further in this site it explains:

Although only 50,000 diversity visas are available each year, the lottery selects about 100,000 applicants. The reason for the larger selection is to ensure that all 50,000 diversity visas are eventually given each year, as some applicants are expected to fail general immigration requirements or may decide to withdraw and not to continue the process. As a result, some lottery winners who have received notifications might not obtain visas.[46]

So, being chosen in the 1st 100,000 does not mean visa

Just read and understand and best to you in all things
