Have you considered ignoring the interview cancelled notice and just showing up on the original date and time? You might get lucky

We thought about it, but we want more time to prepare our case (we are now buying a house together, I want to add her to some of my accounts when she gets an SSN etc). We're bringing our attorney to the interview, and she advised us that preparing now and showing up would be a waste of time.

Also, my wife is pregnant and therefore will not be traveling or working until late 2018/early 2019. We'd rather avoid the medical exam until after the baby is born. Believe or not, we planned everything around a 1 year wait, and we were not thrilled to be summoned after only 2 months.
