Did you receive your green card recently? Immigration can ask you to return it.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services announced Monday that 8,543 people will have to return their Permanent Resident Cards, also known as "green cards," because of a production error.

The federal agency indicated that the cards were printed with an incorrect “Resident Since” date and mailed between February and April 2018.

According to a statement from the immigration agency, those affected were the spouses of U.S. citizens who applied for residency under form I-751, a petition to remove conditions on Residence.

Because of the technical error, the agency will notify those affected or their attorneys. They should return their green cards in a prepaid envelope within 20 days of receiving the notice or return them at a USCIS field office.

Not only are the super slow and way behind issuing Green Cards, now they are having production errors?

Great Job USCIS

Sounds a lot like the Philippine LTO issue in regard to license plates. They only just now started printing new license plates after what almost 2 years of the equipment being down. Even then from what I read a state prison has more license plate printing machines than the whole country of the Philippines.

What I mean by state prison @Chris Duffy is a US state prison has more machines.

  • LTO can now make license plates and reduce its production backlog after receiving seven manual embossing machines last February 26. The machines can churn out 22,000 plates daily.

Yeah I was laughing when I read this a couple weeks ago because some of the commenters were going on and on about how bad the Philippine government is because they have & count that 7 machines for the entire country of 90+ million people. These machines will have to be running literally 24 hours a day for a long while to get rid of the backlog since 2013.

and then there is the LTO DL backlog.   And now .... passports are on the backlog list.

And y'all don't want to get in line to start the process to acquire property...

My husband's friend is still waiting for his corrected green card - the zip code on it was incorrect.  They returned it in November 2017 - they are still waiting.  Terrible :(

I work for WA State DOC (prisons) and have toured their license plate facility...it produces all the plates for WA and I'm sure it could keep up with more, maybe not all of the Philippines though, haha.

Ever since I started this journey and meeting my Filipino wife it is has become very apparent that you should never be in a hurry while in the Philippines!

I don't think even the Philippines can keep up with the Philippines in all honesty in regards to the LTO. What I was reading is that those 7 machines can keep up with the NEW license plates being order but not the backlog.
