To make light of the situation and to find some support, I write this quick note to vent; I do understand that cases are different, but the difference between Applicant A and Applicant B should not be months. Besides, my personal case, is straight forward with no need for 2 nor 3 months longer than anyone else. By the way, I am an October 3rd Potomac, and quite frankly feel singled out for some reason or another. Please share your thoughts, words of wisdom and of course support. And please do not preach nonsense, if you were approved within two months and feel no pain here. We all want to be with our loved ones and making light of anyone s pain and suffering is not nice, simply put.

You had a k1 that you cancelled mid-process. Did you get official notification that yours was cancelled?

Cause that may be causing your CR1 to take longer.  I've seen RFEs and AP cases through Morocco because there was no documented resolution of the K1.

I received the official cancellation in November both on paper and in an email.

There’s no logic to the way USCIS processes cases. You just have to wait. You seem to be under normal processing times if you filed in October though.

I had a K-1 and cancelled mid process too. I don't think your timeline is any slower than others. Look at mine, we just got our interview date. I filed June 21 2017 and didn't get NOA2 until mid February. The whole process will take a little over a year. You are no alone, and your case is on track.

You are still within the normal processing time

When your case goes to NVC things do go faster but much of that depends on how fast you pay the 2 fees (online) and fill out the AOS and spouse doing the DS 260

Tips:

When you get the letter or email from NVC be sure to get his 2 criminal reports (Fiche Anthropometrique and a Casier Judiciaire from the Central Police station) both in Arbic and translations into English

along with any other NVC may ask for (originals usually from Morocco like marriage certificate)

send these with the bar code letter

and label each and every page in upper right hand corner with the CSBxxxx case number NVC assigns,  both your names and both DOB's (as things do get lost and misplaced in immigration offices when not labeled properly )

do not staple

do not use paper clips

do not put in  a binder

incha alllah  / all will go good
