Hi guys. I've a similar question & hoping the collective wisdom of all can help clear up the confusion. I'm laying out all the facts for you guys so

I married my wife in India earlier this year.

She already had a tourist visa since last year which has never been used.

I filed for her I-130 this week.

She has booked her tickets to come visit me at the end of this month.

We are thinking about changing her name  so that she has my last name  in all the Indian documents (passports license etc) My question is, is it ok for her to travel to the US, if she has a new passport with her married name, & the valid US tourist visa in her old passport with her maiden name, along with the marriage certificate? Will she face issues entering the US?

TIA!

Technically she’ll be ok if she brings her marriage certificate and both passports, in practice they recommend she get a new visa in her married name to pre-empt possible issues.  If time and cost aren’t a big problem I’d suggest you do that.

now...all that is assuming they will allow her to enter on a tourist visa with a I130 having been filed for her, which is a different question to what you asked.
