We planned on getting Married on April 15 our anniversary, set our appointment to April 5 and we too fell victim to the 221G dreaded outcome 😪. So many of us here I guess suffer similar disappointing set backs

I just had my K-1 interview yday and am put on AP. The CO gave me back my passport tho and gave me 221g saying case is refused because of missing documents. I didn’t have my birth certificate but submitted my school docs. Also, I have stayed in US on a student visa and she had a question regarding one of my work places I worked at which was not related to my studies. Obviously I’m scared but CO said if they need additional docs they will reach back to me and I would submit my passport at any of the locations mentioned by them. Any thoughts? I’m seriously praying to the Lord and have cried buckets when I came back home. My past might haunt me but I’m choosing to believe in redeeming power of Christ

That’s a tough call and my prayers go out to you and your Fiancé. I recommend searching the India regional forum and see how others have handled similar situations. I understand from post I have read that the embassy is tough there so I am sure you can get some great ideas form their experiences and what to expect and what steps you should take.

Don't know how the embassy in India processes their 221g, did it list the birth certificate on the 221g as need to be submitted?

You may want to move this to the India forum to get better answers regarding your issue.

221g did not mention about birth certificate but it says that unfortunately the visa is refuse cuz of missing documents. They’d reach out if they need more info or not. I just don’t know if CO made generic statements or she actually meant that. And you mean I just post this on india forum?

I meant posting on the India forum instead of the Philippine forum would hopefully get your better information.

Yes. Initially I didn’t know this was country specific. I just saw 221g and started reading and commented. How do I post the same concern in india forum?

They do accept other documents in case you don't have your birth certificate

That sucks. I may have a problem with the birth certificate too but have all the backups. My plan is to to have a printed copy of the Packet 4 to show them what their requirements are...Of course, that may not work.

What was the replacement documents that you gave for the missing birth certificate? Also, what did they ask about the job that you took up during you stay in the US on an F-1 visa? How was the job unrelated to your field of study? That could have been a red flag since you're supposed to only work in the University or a job that is related to your field of study.
