TMM Express

Hi there:

 

My fiance wants to know how good and reliable the service with TMM Express is. She send some equipment through DHL. DHL had a tracking number and although it was expensive, it was worth it. She is trying to go a little cheaper this time. Has anyone here send anything with TMM? She is sending it from Kryvoy Rog to Alabama. Any problems for them to clear stuff through Customs? TMM also does not have an agency in Alabama, but in NJ as I understand. Will the last part of the delivery be made by USPS?

I don't know about TMM, but I know my fiancee sent items from a smaller town in Ukraine to Los Angeles using UKR Poshta, without problems and I don't think it was very expensive. I believe the last legs in the US were done by USPS.

thanks. she used DHL again. she wasn't sure about the customs procedure, since its a homeopathic diagnostic device. if it doesnt clear customs you need a customs broker, and that is complicated then.

Some of those diagnostic devices (probably depends on the specific device) have been made illegal and import is banned because they don't actually do what they claim to do based on science.  Given this is a device from Ukraine, I'm going to guess whatever it is has not been tested or approved by the FDA and as such is probably also banned.

 

As long as she / you are not a doctor trying to sell such devices to others, I suspect that worse that can happen is they will confiscate it. Will probably be luck of the draw if they even open / inspect the package though.

No, it would be for personal use anyways. I have read about that too, that it needs to be approved by the FDA. Thanks for your help.

Good luck! I have a buddy flying to Ukraine in 2 days to meet his fiancee to bring her back home on the 25th.  I'm hoping to be 3 months behind you guys!

My fiance is coming on May 23rd and if everything goes right...we will have a court wedding the 24th and get everything together for AOS in June. We really don't want to wait to long for the paperwork since its taking 6 month to get EAD/AP and more.
