Thanks in advanced for any help

2 part question, My fiance (k1) is currently living in Brazil but is from Venezuela.... we received her NOA2 which is great but as we are gathering her documents we noticed that the website Venezuela had to request police certificates, no longer works. We did a dry run 6 months ago and requested her police certificate and received it but now we don't how how to get it. Please help

second, I know we need to have both her Brazilian and Ven Police certificate translated and I saw this website when I googled, https://immitranslate.com/ .... Will that work or no????

One option might be is to get an attorney to pull the police certificate if it can be done in person.  We had an attorney do it in Honduras (to save having to travel to the capital city) and it was $100.    Of course that assumes that the problem is only with the website, I know with all the problems in Venezuela, it could be the entire office is shut down, or could be intermittent due to one of many problems, but an attorney can tell you if they can do it.

I used several services for translating our Spanish documents, I was happy with all of them. I never used the one you mention, but for Spanish, especially, there are plenty to choose from  (our Marriage Certificate from Iceland was different...very few to choose from).

Hi! She can request the police report on the website. It takes like 2 weeks for her to have them, she just needs to download them. The page is currently working:

Good luck!

We just got one from the website in Venezuela.  Took 3 days to get electronic copy.  It is working but you can only apply during certain times based on the Venezuelan citizen's ID number.  For example, my Finacee had to apply on Mondays based on her ID number.

Also, per the US Dept of State website, police certs are good for a year.  I've seen other posts stating 3 months/6 months.  Here is the link and you can read for yourself:

You are correct about the validity of the PC. Normally it's good for one year but (as you pointed out) each Embassy is different in what they allow as their window to use the PC in. So OP should be aware of this when requesting the PC. Not too soon and not too late.

I read everything that google will spit out regarding Venezuela-specific Police Certificate info, including the Caracas Embassy Instructions and nothing clearly states what the Embassy's policy is.  I'm interested to know what other's experience is.  I think you can only request 3 per year from what I remember reading on The Venezuelan government website?

Here is the P3 for Vene. Peer in on this document and see if anything is discussed at best contact the Embassy for further clarification. Also, I will give you a link to the sub-forum for Vene which is always a good place to ask country specific questions.

Thank you! :)  Much appreciated.  There is some good info there, just doesn't specify length of time the Police Cert is good for.  We will probably try to get another one closer to the interview just in case.  We are trying to stay ahead of the game and in Venezuela, one never knows when the system will break, so we took advantage when it was working.  Thank you again! :)

I finally reached out to the Embassy in Caracas as there was no official statement regarding the length of validity of the VE Police Certificate.  I guess this is as "official" as I'm going to get.

Just have your PC valid within their request, print a copy of the letter you posted here to bring to the interview. With a number of nations in "flux" now one must do everything necessary to get the approval before the "door" is slammed on the visa process. Good luck.

I most definitely appreciate your thoughtful reply.  However, your statement about the door being "slammed" is very troubling.  Are you referring to Venezuela specifically or the USA "slamming the door"?  We are doing all we can to follow the process.   Can you please elaborate as these words are very frightening.

As said above , with the advent of new technologies, language industries like transcription and translation have taken new heights, benefiting people. It also reports that police force is one of the government departments that benefits greatly from the language transcription and translation services while encountering people from other foreign countries. There are different types of police reports that can be translated through Police translation services to benefit them. That includes crime reports, administrative reports, traffic reports, theft, harassment, vandalism, supplement, lost property report, defacing property report and more on.

A bit unsure why this year-old thread is being resurrected at this time. However, there have been some significant changes in Venezuela, and ensuing changes at the US embassy in Caracas since the original December 2018 posting of this thread:

On March 11, 2019, the Department of State announced the temporary suspension of operations of U.S. Embassy Caracas and withdrawal of diplomatic personnel. All consular services are suspended. Immigrant visa applicants should contact IVBogota@state.gov for additional instructions.  Nonimmigrant visa applicants can apply at any U.S. embassy or consulate in another country. For more information regarding applying for nonimmigrant visas, please visit travel.state.gov.

The purpose of your intended travel and other facts will determine what type of visa is required under U.S. immigration law. As a visa applicant, you will need to establish that you meet all requirements to receive the category of visa for which you are applying.

See our Directory of Visa Categories  on usvisas.state.gov  to determine which visa category might be appropriate for your purpose of travel to the United States.
