I had interview today I was approved but rather she used the words "every thing is good, you should get your passport back in 1-2 weeks".  Does this mean I am actually approved?

Also, what is the deal with the CEAC page, immigrant status says READY but non-immigrant shows NO STATUS.  Which one do I go by, and what is it supposed to change from, to?

Last question out of curiosity, do they keep your passport even if you get refused on the day to stamp it with a rejection?

Thanks for putting my mind at ease guys.  Im probably going crazy.

It sounds to me as though the visa was approved......Normally, they don't keep passports if the case is being denied.  I would expect there to be a short period for processing......hopefully, your wait will be a short one.

It's tentatively approved because everything you presented was satisfactory and nothing was missing.  They still run some paperwork and security checks to make sure you aren't a terrorist.

Continue to use immigrant when checking CEAC. The status following interview is not particularly meaningful or useful so don't worry about what it says.

When it says "issued", then you know it's officially approved and will be to you in maybe three more working days.

So will the immigrant CEAC page change from READY to ISSUED?  Or is it the non-immgrant page that shows ISSUED?

You will NEVER log in to nonimmigrant. The Immigrant Visa Unit is processing your case. They do not report on the Nonimmigrant portal.

As stated before "Continue to use immigrant when checking CEAC"

The status may say ready, administrative processing, ready....any order, any number of days. There is no consistent thing you can pin your hopes on except Issued. Just wait for it.

As stated before "The status following interview is not particularly meaningful or useful so don't worry about what it says."

OK thank you.  I guess they don't work on the weekends so hopefully next week it will change to ISSUED.

The interview just felt too easy to believe it until I physically see it in front of me, it is quite a surreal feeling which is why I am worrying so much about it.  I guess in my head it would be a big thing and instead I was just asked maybe 4 questions and she said everything was good and ill get my passport back in 1-2 weeks.  I think its the fact she never used the word 'approved' I am so nervous even though what she said means the same thing.

Just a quick question... if it goes to AP is that a bad thing or normal?

Thanks

It will go to AP, it will also switch between noon immigrant and immigrant.

The interview experience in London is so easy & we build into such a big deal before we get there that it's almost a let down!

You will be fine, in a few days your status will change to ISSUED and a day or 2 later you'll get an email with the tracking details from the courier.

Now is the time to relax, enjoy every second you can with friends/family before you leave :)

Everything crossed for a smooth and stress free journey

Interviews in London are that quick and easy. Nobody believes it ahead of time, then they walk out thinking "Was that it?".

Administrative Processing typically means normal paper shuffling. If it stays AP 2+ weeks then that can indicate an  additional security clearance hold up. That might happen if you were born in one of the known terrorist countries or have a history of frequent trips to such.  It takes a little longer because of extra steps to make sure you aren't a security risk.

Thanks.  Will it be the immigrant or non-immigrant that will show ISSUED?

Are you talking about logging in to CEAC? This page https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?eQs=o/iS8zDpeAKjMWCuebHqOw==

You always use Immigrant in the dropdown choice.  Haven't we covered this? What are we missing?

It switches between immigrant and non immigrant before it is issued.

I can remember the nervous energy in the days after the interview and before getting my passport with the visa in - I managed to convince myself almost daily that they wouldn't issue it - stress/nerves do crazy things to our minds 😂

But you always check status under Immigrant portal, right? and at some point toward the end, the visa will switch to say nonimmigrant even though you look up your number under the Immigrant dropdown choice on CEAC.

Very true.  Can I ask how long it took you to see it showing ISSUED as opposed to just READY?
