Actually, you have to wait until your K-3 petition approves, then you can ask when will you get the packet. (usually 3-6 months)

As for the I-130 NOA2, the petitioner will receive correspondance from NVC. The NVC process will take 3-6 months depending on how your petitioner responds to NVC. (sending documents, fees, etc)

Not quite. Since the I-130 approved BEFORE the I-129F, it should be forwarded to NVC. Check out the steps in the process using the guides but packet 3 is not the next step.

To verify your I-130 went to NVC you can call them at 603.334.0700 then use menus -1-5 to speak to a person.

Definitely call NVC to find out if they have your I-130 and if they can give you the case #. Since you're filing for a K-3 visa, they might be holding it until the I-129F gets approved. But it's best to check with them first to find out what is going on.

CR-1

02/05/07 - I-130 sent to NSC

05/03/07 - NOA2

05/10/07 - NVC receives petition, case # assigned

08/08/07 - Case Complete

09/27/07 - Interview, visa granted

10/02/07 - POE

11/16/07 - Received green card and Welcome to America letter in the mail

Removing Conditions

07/06/09 - I-751 sent to CSC

08/14/09 - Biometrics

09/27/09 - Approved

10/01/09 - Received 10 year green card

U.S. Citizenship

03/30/11 - N-400 sent via Priority Mail w/ delivery confirmation

05/12/11 - Biometrics

07/20/11 - Interview - passed

07/20/11 - Oath ceremony - same day as interview

Do you wait to for the I-129F approval to do what?

You now have two horses in the race. The I-130 is moving but will require some action from you to keep moving. See the next steps in the guide. (Steps after it gets to NVC. Yours is not being held at the service center.)

The I-129F is sitting at the starting line. You don't know if it's at ready, set or go at this point. Once approved, it will run the race against the I-130.

You make the judgment whether you want to keep two horses in the race or stop the one that's running and wait for the other. If it were me (and it was) I kept them both running until the K3 jumped so far ahead, my choice was an easy one. You have the reverse situation. You make the call.

Okay so I am understanding a little better! So if we want to cancel our I129 do we have to actually do anything? Or do we just call the NVC get our case number and send in the rest the forms?

Thanks again for the help!!!

If you want to cancel your I-129F and K3 process you send a notarized letter to USCIS withdrawing your petition. However, I can't see a reason why you would want to do that. When it is approved, it will proceed on its own and you can simply take whichever enterview date is earliest. If the I-130 is on station by that time, it will be a CR1 interview anyway. Doing nothing about the I-129F causes no harm.

The I-130 file is going to be forwarded anyway so I apologize if I wasn't specific.

Wait for the paperwork because the paper work from NVC will have your name and case number on it. You first set of paper work with be agent of choice, and then that allow you to choose who will get the bills and mail to which spouses home. I believe it is best to get all mail sent to an address in the U.S. All future paper work is simple. I believe the first payment is 70.00, and then second bill is 380.00.
