Hello,

I am in the process of filling out the DS-260 and when I printed out the sample form I found on the internet, it had a section where I had to list my education and work places for the past 10 years.  Now, as I am filling out the actual online application, under work/education/training, it asks me about my current employment in Canada, which area I intend to work in in the US and then it skips to whether I have ever served in the military.  It does not ask me anything about previous employment or education.  I have reviewed and re-reviewed all pages and questions a million times.  Is the form new?  has it been updated?  is that information no longer required?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance,

Daniela

the info you are required to fill out on the ds-260 varies by person. For instance if you were not currently employed it would ask about previous employment, but you are so it just skips those questions for you.  Partially because you're a female and Canadian.  I was also prepared to answer education and previous employment questions but it never asked.  I think it's a little odd not everyone gets the same questions but they don't.

Just be very careful of every answer you do give and every box you check.  If any are wrong, some applicable questions could be skipped in error.  Don't submit until you've gone through everything carefully from page on to the end.  One small correction can take you down a whole path you never saw before.

I agree! I don't want to make mistakes and am being very careful which is why I'm wondering why those questions re: previous employment and education are missing.  Do you have any suggestions? Were the same questions missing for you when you completed your DS-260?

I'm the petitioner, not a visa applicant and my X wife and her daughter immigrated to the US in 2006 when the paper DS 230 was used.  I gave you my suggestion already.  Start at the very beginning and make sure everything is right.  If you change anything, you need to start over again and see if your change, changed the later questions.

As pushbrk has already stated, the DS260 is an active online form.. marking yes to one question can lead to a series of further questions that will not be required if the answer to the question was no. The questions you are required to answer are based on answers you give to key questions. Answer all questions you see honesty.

Of course! I wouldn't think of doing it any other way :) thank you!

I was also prepared to answer previous employment and education questions, but those didn't come up for me either. I had to go back and check every single page again to make sure I didn't miss out something. Then I looked at the sample and some questions only pop up for males (can't remember about nationality though). To think I was worried sick about declaring I have 'specialised training in Biology' (darn undergrad degree, which I don't even use now) :D
