Question about RFE

Hello everybody!

Can someone tell me when USCIS require RFE if they request them via email or they send only regular mail to the petitioner. I am asking this because my husband intend to travel and he will not be at home for a month or longer. So if they request only by mail, eventually we will not be able to understand and send them on time.

If you are signed up with the USCIS to receive emails about status changes, you will receive the email many days before the snail mail copy. However, the actual mailed copy is essential in giving you instructions as to what additional information is required. Also, in my case, the Original RFE letter was required as part of my response. I did make a photocopy so I have one, but I was required to mail in the original RFE letter with my response.

the paper mail will be sent via regular mail, and it usually takes about 7 to 8 days b4 receiving it. hope this helps
