Hi Everyone,

Anyone lives in Dallas area?  Though Dallas office processing time seems long, still..

I would like to seek advice on how to check for my latest case status since it's been 12 months after my case submission.

I've submitted one service request so far, called the 1-800-375-5283, and e-mailed the Texas service center today.

I just wanna know if I am on the right rack in terms of making inquiries.  Will personal info-pass help?  Or most likely a waste of time?

My case details below:

-  marriage based i485 (I entered the US on K1 visa)

- Case starts with "MSC", and I live in Dallas

- PD 05/10/2017 (application sent to Chicago Lockbox)

- Bio  06/02/2017

- EAD combo card received on 09/01/2017

- i485 status updated to "ready for an interview" on 08/01/2017 and no update since, made several attempts to send service request online, but was not allowed...

- Finally able to send 1st service request sent 04/16/2018, auto-reply said to expect a feedback by 05/08/2018, but heard nothing

- shortly after I sent out the service request online, strangely my i485 status was updated to "At this time USCIS cannot provide you with information for your case. Please contact the USCIS Contact Center at 1-800-375-5283 for additional information." (probably a system error?)

- Called the 1-800-375-5283 and the received the "ready for an interview" status through the auto-assistant

- a lawyer friend suggested me to e-mail my case to tsc.ncscfollowup@dhs.gov which I did today and received another auto-reply to expect a reply in 15 days.

Thanks for your attention.

Thanks a lot for the prompt reply.  I see.  I have not used combo-card to enter the country.  Wondering if anyone has trouble entering the country using combo-card.  Thanks again.

No, not a problem at all as long as you keep it fairly short and don't leave for a couple months at a time.

My experience in 2012 when I used my combo card (I went to Argentina for 2 months to visit family, etc) and on my return they sent me to secondary at Miami POE. I knew I was gonna be in secondary inspection because the customs officer himself warned me that he needed to do that since I was traveling on my AP.  Anyways they let me in. So You should not have any trouble, at least expect secondary if anything.  But You are very close to get news on your AOS so unless it's very urgent your trip I would wait a little until you get your GC.
