Hello fellow journeyers,

I'm changing my name following our K1 marriage, and have already filed AOS paperwork in my new married name as has been suggested here. Recieved my EAD & AP card last week (yay!) in my new married name. However the Canadian passport I used to apply for AOS is still in my maiden name. We are travelling back to Canada next week to visit my family, and I would like to get a new passport in my married name while I am there (which might help at the border since it will then match the name on my AP documents when I enter the US.)

HOWEVER... I'm concerned that changing my passport number part way through this process may cause problems with the application. I have used copies of my current passport & passport number on all the documentation. It also has my K1 visa in it. Will this cause problems with our Adjustment of status process?

No problem.  Passports get changed and expire during the process all the time.  As a safety net, photocopy the old passport before you renew

YMMV
