You can only use either just one form. I-864ez is used for if there is only one intending immigrant with your w-2. I also filed the only intending immigrant but I do not have w-2 except with SSA-1099R so I have to use I-864 instead I-864ez. Let's others chime in with their experiences to assist your question. Good luck

Read the three questions on the EZ version.  Interpret them literally.  If all answers are yes, use the I-864EZ.  Otherwise, don't.  It really is that simple.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

Hi Pushbrk,

I already read the three questions and couldn't use this with mine because I am not required to file tax based on social security disability so maybe pension will do if there is tax to file. Makes sense to me. Thanks a lot for the input :)

You need earned income with w-2 to sponsor the intending immigrant. Without it, you need to find a joint sponsor and use I-864 instead.

There is w2 of 2017 will that be enough? or Need 3years?

if the existing income is more than double the poverty guideline for 2households only although there is no 2016 w2 record because the petitioner was staying out of the country... do they still need to get joint sponsor?

Will it be better ir necessary to get a joint sponsor not because of poverty guidelines but for other supporting document such as 2016 income records?

Are you still working now? It will be a judgement call with the consular officer with only 2017 w-2 and current income. Just make a statement explaining your situation. Are you able to find a co sponsor, if yes then I-864 is the right form to use. Good luck

Yes we have all the doc.s contemplating wether to use a sponsor or not.... yes current income is above 125% but the hesitation is year 2016 which we cannot accomplished because out of the country (in ph/not working)... but to be sure just used the sponsor right?it will not be an issue right?

With mine I sent the current income and 2017 SSA-1099. NVC sent me a checklist they need 2016 also. I need to bring this to the interview very soon maybe next month or so. I would recommend for you to get a co sponsor to cover last 2 years and current income on I-864 or if you can work another year to file? Just a suggestion
