i don't understand why you'd have a problem with hillary/bill accepting $ in transactions cleared by state department ethics committee - but not care in the slightest that trump's lawyer was accepting $ in transactions completely under the table, with no ethics committee involvement. drain the swamp!

I was thinking about Clinton/Starr/Lewinsky. Most in the MDR were cheering Starr on. Admittedly at the time I might have leaned that way. Starr was given free reign to dig into every aspect of the Clinton's life under the ruse of a white Water investigation , that basically resulted in a few prosecutions for some peripheral players, but a sex scandal that almost unseated a democratically elected President . 

 

Fast forward to now, and we have almost the identical situation, with the the same MDL that was rabid about Starr, cheering them on and the same MDR that thrilled in Clintons investigation now rabid. 

 

My take on this. Nobody in America should have  our Govt given free access to dig into every part of your life and hope they find something

your take is way off base from where i'm coming from, but like you said - you consider trump's admin 'on your team'. i was in highschool when the whole starr fiasco was going on and honestly - i don't see the similarities. i don't see the stormy/trump thing as a sex scandal, is anyone surprised that trump paid off his affairs? i don't think so, it's not even scandalous. it's about money - paying to play, paying to silence and even more so, being indebted. trump is indebted to russia. russia did interfere in our election, trump has even admitted that..and they're probably going to interfere in the future. why is trump doing absolutely nothing about this? would you care about russian interference if hillary had been elected and the same financial ties came to light? i think so, you clearly care about the pay to play that went on under other administrations, just not this one because you think he's on your side. he's not, but i get that no one is going to convince any trump supporter of that fact.

The I don't care cause he is on my team, was a sedgway into my talking about how the start and Muller investigation are so similar and sarcasm or so I thought.

 

If anyone can't see the stark similarity in the two, it's a good sign you might be a hypocrite,  no matter the ditch.

 

If course being the only middle of the road poster here. It's easy to see the big picture, not so much if you are buried in either ditch.

As I've said before.... we have a legal process in this country, regardless of if a President wants to complain about it or not, no one is above the law. The SC has broad powers intentionally and constitutionally affirmed as such. That is the way the law works. Mueller has them, just as Starr had them, and throughout history, several others had it too. If a President has done nothing amiss they have nothing to fear. The same thing we citizens are routinely told by our government, police, and other authorities. The end result of the Clinton presidency was his partial impeachment, but ultimate survival. Starr had the power to go digging, and dig he did. Perhaps the American people should think very carefully next time about whom they decide to elect, or we will keep getting ourselves into these situations.

the similarity of lies being told by both trump and clinton, that's about it. there's a TON more going on with trump that's suspect, and all the lies he tells only makes him more suspect. i don't care about trump having affairs or being a pig - that's always been a given for me. and a non issue when it came to bill/monica. imo those in power/with money, are inclined to adultery and coverups. it's expected. the norm.

That being said, is Mueller going to turn over the evidence requested in discovery to the lawyers for Concord Management which we have been told is really the Russian government?
