I-485 interview scheduling in Portland, Maine

Anyone here who has done AOS interview in Portland, Maine? (K1)

 

My I-485 case just updated to "ready to be scheduled for interview"! I am wondering how long we can expect to wait to be scheduled for the interview here in Maine since I have seen that in some states you wait months until it is actually scheduled. 

 

I am still waiting for my EAD to be approved, pending 187 days now.. I contacted my senator's office again last week and they put in another inquiry and emailed me USCIS's reply this morning to me, and tonight we get this update. We'd prefer to have seen the EAD updated to "approved" but this is better than nothing after waiting for more than 5 months for any updates....! USCIS told the senator my I-485 was waiting for my background check to clear and that the I-765 is assigned to an officer and I should receive a notice shortly(we'll see about that). Just so surprised since my field office is supposed to working I-485 on January 2017, I filed Nov 2017.

Hi! Our initial interview for AOS will be tomorrow (wish us luck 😅). I'm totally freaking out lol. We are ready but still nervous about how will it go. I dont have my EAD yet and my bioemtrics appointment was last febuary 23. Then i got this notice for initial interview last month. Anyways,I will let you know about our interview soon. God bless!

I’m wondering if you ever found the answer to your question.....we filed our AOS November 27, 2018. Se we are in the beginning months of waiting. When i look online I’m seeing they are processing Maine AOS back in May 13,2017.  It is saying a 10 to 21.5 months wait. Ohhhhh myyyyyy!! I’m wondering if this is accurate, but I’m not seeing to many k1 visa who are adjusting their status in Maine. Your name is only one that appears...just curious what you are finding out.

TogoAfrica,  I'm in a very similar situation to you. K1, waiting on our AOS and we filed the I-485 on November 8th, 2018. We're still waiting and I just read the same thing you did about wait times. If you find anymore info, I'd love to know roughly how long this wait will be! I thought we were pretty close to the finish line until I read the "estimated time range" for Portland's office.

Thanks for responding!!! Wow!! There is not many of us in Maine applying for AOS 😔. Sadly I don’t have any new news. There just isn’t anyone to really ask. I did write to one who back in 2017, dealt with a crazy process but amazingly recieved her EAD and AOS about the same time....in 6 months!!! 6 months would be AWESOME!!! But sadly this was back in 2017...no current news and I’m fearing the wait time has increased...but really hoping not 10-21.5 months 😮😭!! If you find any info, we would also appreciate news!!! Our case timelines are very close!! Very curious how it goes for you!
