And being you want to nit-pic the "news" ... you left this part out:    other countries may have a requirement and failure to produce notarized permission letters and/or birth certificates could result in travelers being refused entry 

 

The OP isn't leaving the USA and never returning.    The warnings are on the CBP website ... a wise person would heed them.      As the Elvis song says... "wise men say only fools rush in .. "

 

 

Go back to my original post.  I never said you didn't need one or shouldn't have one, what I said the US has no requirement for the letter.  PERIOD.
