K-1 visa Moscow interview question

Здравствуйте друзья!

I had a quick question about chat screenshots I have with my fiancée. I plan on using them for her K-1 interview in Moscow. In Russia, there are hundreds of other languages spoken, whether they are other ethnic languages or languages of immigrants. Would you need to translate conversations in, say for example, Ukrainian, for the interview? We don't speak in English to each other. However, even though we both speak Russian, our conversations are in aforementioned third language (such as Ukranian, for example). Would I need to translate these chats with a translation certification and have the translation notarized? I am sorry if this question is confusing. I can elaborate if you guys didn't understand.

Заранее спасибо! ^_^

No, your question is not confusing and very clear. My answer: don't bother to translate your conversations. Chances are a consular officer won't even look at your conversations screenshots. Only official documents, like birth certificates or divorces decrees, must be translated in English if originally issued in any language other than Russian.

I had my interview in Moscow in spring 2017. I printed out and brought with me a couple pages of screenshots, as well as appr.20 photos. The officer didn't take them. The only thing she asked me for was an affidavit of support. Russia is not considered a high fraud country, and Moscow embassy is one of the easiest ones for K-1 visa. Your worry is understandable, but honestly, don't overthink it. The interview should be quick and easy.

Hi Phila neighbor :)) I don't think you need to translate screenshots. We are going to make some screenshots from Viber,as well as call logs. I think you should keep everything in its own language for this matter.

Regards!

@barashkaMay I please ask you something? I see you already have interview scheduled for May,31. But that was quite a gap between Consulate Received and actual interview date. Does it mean it is so hard to get in for interview now,or it just was some other circumstances? Just would like to know for myself. We are still waiting for NVC to receive the case. Hopefully it will happen very soon, and after that it's not so long to schedule medical and interview.

I would appreciate your input!!!

Yes, I was thinking this, too! I know that my photographic evidence such as a my screenshots are not official documents and so, I assumed they probably did not have to be translated. I just wanted to make sure, just to be safe! ^_^ Thank you for your kindness, I truly appreciate it.

Of course you may ask me something, no problem! :) I know, there was a big gap! It took me a long time to get an interview date. Otherwise, there were no other complicated circumstances, no! I tried scheduling an interview from the beginning of February until the middle of March. I had no luck until about the middle of March where I was able to land a late May interview. Basically, it took me about 6 weeks to be able to land an interview for my fiancée. You may get lucky and get an interview landed quickly, however! ^_^

I don't know, but it's the most part that scares me to be honest. I see how quickly people from other countries get their interview spots. And Moscow is like never ending story......(sighing). We really hoping to see each other in July!!! I don't have big hopes for June (it would be too early)...but it seems to be very complicated with Russia :((

Russia (Moscow) has been difficult during these past 6 months, it seems. You are right, other countries land interview spots very quickly and relatively easy compared to Russia. Russia has less staff that they work with and that impacts the interview process majorly. Moscow is a relatively easy embassy, otherwise! However, it seems it has had long wait times recently due to other factors. Is your fiancée far from Moscow?

Yeah. I followed all the news that they had about embassies in Russia..very sad,but what can you do,when it's the only option and you're stuck with it.She is from Samara (will travel there by train, when time comes) first for medical and than whenever the time will allow - for the interview. I've seen on one of russian forums not long ago people were talking about May,8 being open and right away someone booked it. So there is a small percentage of luck. Hopefully,we will have our docs ready in embassy by end of May. NVC seems to be not that bad. 20 days in average to receive case from USCIS,and than another week maybe for whole process from case number to in transit and finally ready. I'm on a very emotional rollercoaster....very hard to accept that fact that it is taking like a year...whole thing!!! We have not seen each other since August 2017. So the estimate is about a year actually.

I sent my I-129F back in June of 2017 and our interview is in May of 2018. It took us 11 months to get an interview! I haven't seen my fiancée since late March of 2017. Trust me, I KNOW YOU FEEL 100%.
