Hi,

Does anyone know the average response time for an expedite request? They requested evidence which was sent in, but we haven't heard anything for two weeks now.

Wow, I didn't expect it to be that long. Thank you!

They probably have a backlog of 30 days of expedite requests to deny before they get to your and deny.  :)

YMMV

Why so bitter? I think we have a decent chance due to deployment.

Haha that was said in jest I'm sure. Best of luck with the request!

If it was then I apologize, my bad haha.

Either way my question has been answered, we just got an email that our I-129F is expedited!

Thats great news. Unfortunately after they accepted an expedite request they will make decision fast but the case is going to wait as long as the regular processed ones for being sent to NVC. If I were you after they give you NOA2 call the military line and request if possible a faster shipping to NVC, if not you might lose another month or so. Don’t know how urgent your situation is but I’m suggesting this based on my own experience.

Thank you for the heads up, I appreciate it! We'll be sure to do that.

It’s not always possible but you can make a request. We were extremely stressed waiting for the case to each NVC, took 55 days :/

We still have around 6 months until deployment so I'm not too worried, but 55 days is long either way... Our I-129F form has been approved and according to our case status they will mail us the approval notice. Do we wait until the approval notice comes in and then call the millitary helpline?

Thanks :)

If it’s approved then I don’t think you have to wait for NOA2 to make a call and inquiry. But I can’t 100% advise on it bcs when we made the call case was already sent. I would try early tho

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
