Hi, on my NOA1, the receipt date is 5/4 and the notice date is 5/9. Which date are they actually going by? Thanks

Everything here is self-reported, so I imagine some people gave us received dates (which I believe is the 'old site' date) and some notice dates (which I believe is the 'new site' date). It used to be convention for thread boundaries to go by received dates because the automated scans of the old site went off that, but I don't know how much people are sticking to that these days.

But here's the thing: It doesn't matter, except for determining when your case is outside of normal processing times and you want to make an inquiry. Which isn't any of us yet, and won't be until December to January.

People with the same received and/or notice dates as you will get approved before you and after you almost certainly, and there won't be an obvious reason why.
