Perhaps this is one time that you'll be glad if your application gets denied. I will say something that goes against the sentiment that was previously expressed. Since I obviously don't know you, nor your partner, I have no idea if it applies to your situation, only you can be a judge of that.

 

There is a reason K-1 visa exist and not just CR-3. Yes, the requirement for it is intent to get married. But I think it would be overly idealistic to not recognize that unspoken part is "if things go well between us" Heck, thanks to this forum I found out there is even reality TV show "90 day fiance" on TLC centered around K-1 couples and how things go in those first 90 days. Some might have benefit of frequent visits, either due to living in ESTA countries, or being able to afford travels, others not so much. I do not think it is cowardly or dishonest to state "I intent to get married to this person, but I acknowledge the fact that once we actually live together things might not go well to the point of irreconcilable differences." Remember, we, as humans, cannot really control our emotions and how we feel, but we can control how we act. Does your partner merely express an understandable concern, or is he being manipulative where he both wants to keep you on leash, but also afraid to commit? Talk to him, do not play games, just talk long and openly. Decide then, you are the only person who can. Good luck. And may NOA2s rain on all of you soon!

Hell PA2DR, I hope you are well and your fiancé. Yes I leave for Bolivia in two weeks, I have been very blessed to see my fiancé about every six weeks. I’m hoping we start seeing some of us approved next month, thanks for asking. How about you? Are you seeing your fiancé soon?

That’s great I know your happy I know I am, does Philly have direct flights to DR?

 

I went about three years ago to Santo Domingo and it was nice and a few trips to Labadee, Haiti. 

 

Is it cold yet in Philly?

So he really wants us to live together first before getting married. We came to the conversation when I asked him if I already moved there and after 3 months he thinks we not ready what he gonna do, he said that "He will ask me to go back to my home country and apply again for K1so we can try to live together again." It really breaks me apart cause I quit my job to prepare for us. We already prepared an engagement party in my hometown before I moving to the US. He cancels our marriage plan for the third time now. He promised me to marry me someday when he is ready. But after many broken promises, I don't think if I can trust him or not. Do you guys think I should break up with him? 

 

For more information, I am 26 years old, doing very well on my own, I am from the middle-class family, I have a very good job in Singapore. The only reason I want to move to the US is because I just wanna stay and build a family with him.  I am really sad right now and feels so stressed. I really love him but I don't think he cares about my feelings after he said the things above. I know it's very important for him to live together but is it ok to sacrifice my feelings for that?  Thank you so much guys

 

 

Hmm.. try to observe him first. Does he do something fishy these days? Did something changed? Or does he look like he's not himself these past few days? 3 yr relationship is long. Ask if he still loves you and then talk to him about your feelings. Just talk it out..

 

I am guessing maybe he is just stressed about the process or marriage when you guise talk about it.

@PA2DRand @LarryHickman I know for sure that you both are going to have a blast while visiting your SO. Don't be surprised if when you get back this place is rocking with a few approvals. At any rate have a good time and be safe. Don't spend to much money. LOL

High of 82 today!!! 62 tmr though,  Not cold yet!! And yeah there  are direct flights.... but this time I’m flying out of New Jersey because it was 250 cheaper!!  Flying into Santo Domingo, this time. It’s so nice there. I’d like to get over to Haiti someday!!

I’ll try not to spend too much!! 😩😩 because these expenses will add up quickly!!!
