I’ll show a few mundane conversations maybe one or two messages each month after the NOA1, my trips itinerary, passport stamps, hotel reservations, pictures, her itinerary to the USA etc. Also don’t forget as easy as it is to not give much thought but remember basics about your partner, I know this sounds crazy when we all are looking forward but simple things like ‘where does XYZ live or how many siblings’ could be ‘evidence’ just as much as a hard copy evidence of whatever.......just my thoughts

Some example questions would be:

-What is the name of your fiancé/e?

-Where did you meet?

-When did you meet?

-How did you meet?

-When are you planning to get married?

-What is your fiancé/es work?

-Have you gone out of the country?

-How long were you out of the country?

-How many times has your fiancé/e visited you?

-Where did you go when your fiancé/e visited you?

-Do you plan to have kids?

-Where do you plan on staying in the US?

-name and DOB

-what year did you meet

-How did you meet

-what are your fiancé parents' names

-your fiancé's employer and job

-have either of you been married before

-other countries you've been to

-do you have kids together

These are some of the questions but rest assure that all the questions will be about the petitioner, the beneficiary, and the relationship. Always tell the truth even if the truth is "I don't know". Don't rush in answering and give a straightforward answer. Look the CO in the eye when answering and smile. Don't give a novel as your answer. Just brief and concise. Don't volunteer any information unless asked, this could send you down the wrong road.

Don't forget to ask if you passed.

Hi everyone. Looks like we are getting closer. 🙂 I have a question. As I'm getting closer I'm realizing I may not meet the minimum requirements for the Affidavit of Support when we go to the interview - expecting my NOA2 mid November at the earliest so estimating I may have interview in January or so? I am finishing up grad school right now and I am looking for work. I will be employed and be making more than the minimum requirement by that time. I assume I would need to provide the tax return for this year which is why I am concerned about the income requirement.  I'm wondering if any of you are in the same boat and NOT getting a sponsor. I know that's usually the first response, but I'm wondering if there are any alternatives like showing that I am employed at that time and meet the minimum requirement and showing my prior tax returns outside of this year. I don't have the sponsor option at the moment. Do you think this will work? Have you heard of anyone doing this?

Each Embassy is different but most do except "students" with financially bright futures. Yes, tax returns and W2 are good support documentation. I have seen many who were students but who could show past income and future earning potential and they had no problems. To be on the safe side you may want a co-sponsor in your back pocket in the event that it becomes an issue at the interview.

Everywhere I’ve looked I have not seen any information on people in my situation being able to get approved without a sponsor. I think the idea of having a sponsor in my back pocket is a good one. Now to find a standby sponsor. Thank you!

Great examples Greenbaum, every K1 petitioner and beneficiary that I have spoke to it seemed to me the question was ‘how did you meet’ and the personal questions about the petitioner at the interview. Every embassy is different but from what I hear the CO didn’t care about an affidavit of support, your chat logs or pictures at this point but have them.

Every embassy is different but from what I hear the CO didn’t care about an affidavit of support, your chat logs or pictures at this point but have them. Therein lies the problem. Many are getting away from the I-134 but to cover their butts they "recommend" that you have financials available. So you go through all the working plus $100 bucks to send it and they don't ask for it. I have been looking for months for the "wet" signature requirement but have been unable to locate any. I did find that anything you submit to USCIS scanned signed document is acceptable. But Embassy's are governed by DOS who has different rules.

I heard that too. They don’t ask for any of the evidence that you are suppose to bring ie tax transcripts w2 and pay stubs!! Smh I don’t get it!! I guess they just see information on the i 134 and that’s it.

Do they still ask for the statement letter from family and friends? I mean, a letter stating that we are really a couple, we met each other and are still in a relationship as a proof of evidence..

Not required for the Philippines. Follow the links and the checklist documents is all you need. Anything more and your doing more. Why do when do will do?

. Once you receive your case number it's time to be in charge of what time you choose when things get down. To smooth that trail for your I have a few things that will help you process your visa there in the Philippines.

Start by visiting Hanks site where he has taken the time and research, and of course it helps if you spent 8 plus years helping folks in the Philippines sub-forum get their visas, where he has listed each step. With those steps he includes the what, when and why to completing the item. Many have used the website and have had little or NO problems securing a visa from USEM.

http://www.visaconnection-philippines.com/k-1-visa-application.html

Next you'll want to connect with those who are processing through the Philippines in the VJ Philippines sub-forum that way you will be with like minded ppl who are sharing their experiences and also asking and answering questions. Since most in this thread are processing through another country they would be hard pressed to explain what is needed for the Philippines.

You'll find this on Hank's website but I will give it to you early and that is the Packet 3 Letter for USEM. It's found here:

Hi Greenbaum, I’m confused what $100 are you talking about to send ‘it’? I know there is a $265 embassy cost and medical cost etc but where are you getting another $100 bucks at the interview stage? Thanks

you said So you go through all the working plus $100 bucks to send it and they don't ask for it.
