Can I vent here?

I am very angry after seeing the timeline of a man from Latin America who spent in this whole process 7 months (including the EAD authorization).

Meanwhile people who follow and respect the procedures.....we have been punished by the US administration with a processing time of more than 18 months!!!!!

Really ....?

This is really unfair.

Yes I feel your anger, but don't get yourself worked up over things you can not control. Granted we have to face long processing times and sometimes  the people that follow the rules often get the short  end of the stick. Please focus  on your new life with your loved  one it will all be worth it in the long  run. We are halfway there and of course you can vent.

Hi!

I was wondering whether anyone planning to have an engagement party before the interview? I just had mine with my family and close friends and it is pretty grand, afraid that the officers think that it is a wedding ceremony. Is it ok to show pictures of the engagement party during the interview? I read that it is not advisable to tell them about the engagement party during the interview. All of my decorations/cakes, etc. have the word 'engagement' in it.

I wouldn't show pictures of anything you're afraid would look like a wedding ceremony unless it would be considered very unusual in your fiancé(e)'s culture to not have an engagement ceremony.

Heck, I wouldn't do anything that a random friend or relative might post a picture of on social media that sort of looks like a wedding ceremony.

There is no way in hell I would do anything remotely like this or come within a mile of anyone’s wedding or the like while going through the K1 process.

Second I don’t know this for sure but I also know it’s entirely possible....I see so many people on here spilling their guts about what they did or want to do that could negatively effect their petition....like Facebook the people at the USCIS and Embassy’s  know who you are and frankly if they wanted could easily look on VJ.

Of course this would take manpower and cost but for high risk fraud countries it’s entirely possible they could read these messages and I’m confident they know all about Visa Journey.

The fact is since your asking this question already means you know it doesn’t smell right, good luck.
