I just want to use this medium to encourage everyone still waiting on their approval. There is a reason why things happen and at the moment it seems very aggravating and annoying but know that delay is not denial. Who knows the reason for this delay may speed up the other processes or in fact align things perfectly for when your significant other arrives.  I am still waiting on mine and I have decided to let go of the anxiety and live in the moment. There would be down days leading up to the approval but I have a plan to get me out of any funk on those days. I have also planned the perfect meal I will have the day the approval comes (for those in Houston- Hop Doddy Burger, Shake Shack Fries and an Oreo Milkshake) plus the best sleep I'll have since November.

So remember, Live and Let Go. This time next year this will be a thing of the past and most of us will have forgotten these days. I sure will!

Agreed❤

Very well said. There are very few outright denials at this point as well. Right now it's more of a game of hurry up and wait. I'm way more nervous about the interview than I was about waiting for the approval. For all we know they could be fact checking something instead of sending out an RFE. The process is not transparent at all so there's no telling why the "delay". I know the petitioner and beneficiary both go through an extensive background check and some are returned faster than others for whatever reason. Don't give up hope just know that eventually you WILL hear something.

It's not that your case hasn't been "touched" that was probably done back in September or October to send out background checks. Maybe November maybe earlier who really knows.

What about police certificate?  would it show something? or that kind of issue does not appear on the certificate?

Is an overstay a crime?  Even if it was, is it a crime that would cause a Visa ineligiblility?  In other words would it be a crime involving moral turpitude?

YMMV
