hello,i want to file adjustment of status, but my husband is not working rite naw,but we hve the money to pay.is there any problem

You are in the K-1 forum, you need to go to the adjustment of status forum.

Yes, it will be a major problem for you to adjust status and wont be possible unless your husband 1) finds gainful employment 2) finds someone willing to be a co-sponsor or 3) has the min required value of assets

USCIS says normal processing time is 60 days.

However, for K-1's most are responded to pretty quickly - less than 30 days.

I think mine was 1 week I have seen that from many other VJ members as well.

Just depends on when your adjudicator looks at RFE's - some do it immediately - some do RFE review on  a certain day of the week.

Some might be on vacation when your response comes back.

So many variables.

Thank you ! My RFE was to confirm that my fiancé have never been married ....

How long does it usually take uscis to reply to a RFE?

30 to 60 days. Their regulations states up to 84 days.

The USCIS has issued a Ruling, effective April 17, 2007, that gives adjudicators flexibility in determining the length of time a petitioner or applicant has to respond to a Request for Evidence (RFE) or a Notice of Intent to Deny (NOID). Currently, the standard deadline for response to an RFE is twelve weeks (84 days). NOIDs must be responded to within thirty days. Under this regulation, the USCIS will determine how much time should be permitted in any given case, with maximum possible time being what is now the standard response deadline. That is, adjudicators will set deadlines for both RFEs and NOIDs that could be up to twelve weeks in case of RFEs or up to thirty days for NOIDs. No extensions of time are permitted.

I believe the 84 is how long you have to respond to an RFE, not how long USCIS has to respond back to you.  I believe that normal processing is 60 days for a response to an RFE.  And if they take longer, they take longer....

The recording will tell you the best times to call are Wednesday through  Friday 8am to 9pm eastern time. After you listen  to the status of your case in order to speak to a CS rep youll have to push the number 3 if I recall correctly to report  a problem with your case, then youll be placed on hold according to their work load.

Thanks 👍

Option 3:

Call 1-800-375-5283

Press 2 for case status

Press 1 if you know your receipt number

Press your receipt number 922(WAC) then your numeric receipt number

Option 4:

Dial 1-800-375-5283 then press 1,2,2,4,2,1 then enter receipt number then press 1.

Thanks for the correction but they do have 60 days in which to reply. USCIS’s official guideline says that they will respond to RFE within 60 days after your RFE response submission. 60-day clock starts on the day USCIS receives your RFE response. How long USCIS takes to respond to RFE varies widely on case-to-case basis along with USCIS workload. USCIS can even deny an application without RFE now.

Not relevant to us May filers. We are here waiting and waiting without word. No explanation other than the monotonous "you are still within processing time....."

After September 2018 this applies right???

It has always applied. September 2018 deadline from the article has nothing to do with K-1's. It's mainly for those who send in a visa application and do not send in a lot of the paperwork thinking they will hold their place in line till they can get all the paperwork together and send it in before their case is adjudicated.

I do believe you. I think this is a shitty unfair process that has no governance nor legitimate checks so folks are not allowed to discuss paying their $500+. Hopefully as time progress and this vague process has evolved, we will see fairness, proper timing and non neglect for people's life.  Thanks for sharing.
