Coming up on 3 months now, how is everyone hanging in there? I am hoping we all are keeping our minds productive. I'll admit it's very hard to keep my eye on the prize at times. Have you found the time to be passing slow or fast? Soon we will be yayyying as our times draw near and near...Hang in there Go May 2018 Filers

VisaJourney timeless are based on what others fill in on their timelines as they move along in the process. If yours has moved up a day or two, then it's probably because the most recent people to fill in their timelines got NOA2s faster than average. We won't know if there's any real trend for a while, though. Mine (from a received date of May 25) has gone from Dec 4-9 to 5-10 and is at 3-8 now (and there might have been more movement, that's just what I've seen).

The "new" web site (which I think is almost a year old now) is at https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/

Add your case to your account after signing up.

Note that the "one-time" password you'll get means that it only can be used once, not that you only have to enter a one-time password once, ever; you'll get one sent to you to use every time you try to log in there. So it's not really worth checking often this early in the process, in my opinion.

Also note that all of the USCIS and "Case Tracker" apps for iOS and Android are unofficial, and work by hitting the "old" web site. Very few (if any) K-1 cases are updated there anymore, so they no longer do scans in the threads for active months.

It's not really possible to write something that would scan the "new" web site the same way due to various security measures. I've thought about trying to write a case tracker for the new site (would be tricky; it would need a way to read your email or text messages), but mobile app development isn't really my background.

This is a little confusing, I have logged in every day to see my case status which just says received and I have email and text alert turned on but I never get an email and I check my junk folder also, I’m using this address

https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/displayLogon.do

I signed up back in May, it seems to work fine now I’m a confused....thanks VJ friends

I’m a little worried about creating another account in fear it could mess me up with multiple accounts....how can the site I check be that old? we are only talking May 2018.

It’s weird the sign up at the link you provide above doesn’t recognize my email or password  I successfully use daily using this link

Your accounts don't carry over from the old site to the new one.

A lot of design decisions around the new site make it seem like they believed the old site had security problems (at least it seems that way to me), so it's not surprising your accounts don't carry over, even if it's inconvenient. They chose, for reasons that undoubtedly made sense to them, not to shut down the old site and move all the data over to the new one once the new site was ready to go. But I believe it's extremely unlikely that the old site (or any case tracker app based on the old site -- which all of them are) will provide any useful information for a May 2018 filer. Or even a January 2018 filer.

Dave, I saw that they won’t send out refs anymore just denials starting September. I’m worried.. even though I completed the app to the best of my ability lol and with lots of help from this website. What are your thoughts?

That's not exactly what they said, I think (though I haven't actually read the memo in question, I've just seen summaries here). The memo said that starting with petitions filed in September, they would have the ability to send denials without sending an RFE or NOID first, and strongly implied this would be used to deny cases that were obviously missing critical information or had no chance of being approved but had been filed for the legal effects of having filed the petition (as I understand things, none of the examples they gave in the memo were fiancé(e) or spousal visa applications). If that's all that actually happens, it's a good thing in my opinion; processing cases that aren't going to be approved wastes time they could spend on other people. If they start issuing denials for the "forgot to check a box on the form" type RFEs, that's a real problem. If it's something in between, we'll have to see, though it shouldn't affect us at the I-129F stage (where we're at now).

I got a hold of the memo and read over it and there is so much in there to explain but like you said, it has nothing to do with K-1's. Basically if you are applying for a benefit (visa) and you are not eligible for that benefit or you are not using the benefit for it's intended purpose then the adjudicator doesn't have to send you a RFE or a NOID. Just VOID. Done!

But if an application is received with an error or missing documentation then the adjudicator is obligated to complete the entire processing up to and not including the approval, but must combine all RFE's for that case into one request. In the past they may send out a RFE letter then two weeks later send another RFE for a totally different circumstance. The memo requires them to ask for everything in one letter.

So there are many good things in the memo. One just has to take the time to read for themselves and not rely on CNN or Betty Lou over in the Jamaican thread who is afraid that the sky is falling in on her K-1 visa with the intent that she is going to get denied. Believe it or not the spirit of this letter was promulgated in the Obama Administration. This administration is only trying to get the rules so that they are followed. There isn't anything in there that is made up without a reason now or from the past.
