How long do you have to wait after your I-129F is approved before you call NVC for your case number?

https://www.visajourney.com/content/k1flow

It says two weeks after you receive your NOA2 (I assume that mean after you've received the hard copy but idk) you may begin to call.

Thank you. I've seen that it takes 2-3 weeks for NVC to get the case after NOA2. Most interviews I see are about 2 months after NOA2. So maybe start calling about 3 weeks after the electronic NOA2 would be a good time to start calling. Only takes 1 phone call a day so not a big deal if it's a tad too early. I'm hoping to get her interview scheduled for Jan 14th or 21st because everything shuts down for a week with the Lunar New Year. I'm going over for the interview but I don't have enough vacation time to stay for more than 2 weeks so we need to schedule her interview on a Monday to make the most of my time there.

Np. I believe so.

Timeline is different for each country because for some country like mine, NVC mostly did once a month delivery to the consulate. To save a budget I guess, since we don't have too many fillers.

My guy also wish to attend the interview and take me to the US right away. As you are, he also have limited hours for vacation so.. Understandable! Good luck for the rest of your journey!

If you can try to have him fly there on his days off (I don't know if he works weekends) it gives you the most time to wait for the visa to be returned which, from what I've researched they usually take 7 or 8 days to be delivered. So I'm hoping that by interviewing on a Monday we get her visa the following Monday or Tuesday so she can fly back with me. She's never been out of Vietnam and she is really scared thinking about flying here by herself.

Good luck to both of you!

They approved our case!

Received an email from USCIS that they have taken an action on our case, checked on the old website it still says case received, checked on the new website and voila! Case was approved on Nov 15th.

NOA1 May 29 (Old) / Jun 1 (New).

NOA2 Nov 15

No update on the case tracker whatsoever.

I was torn between updating here or not because I really didn't want to make anyone feeling down but.. My heart and prayers goes to all of you still waiting.

I truly am wishing for a smooth and fast process for all of you til the end.

Congrats. I think I posted more than once here that it was pretty nearly certain that people who filed after you would be approved before you, but with any luck they'll get to us soon.

Never loose that positive vibe in you @DaveAndAnastasia! And thank you.

Guess it's just a bit all over the place now since they're trying to complete up until June fillers by end of December.

hello VJ friend
I am May Filer, but I am in June as well. Because my NOA 1

Old 5/26
New 5/31

This is the same as lottery, I think that approval or RFE turns out as soon as I catch a good USCIS person. If the lazy person captures the document, it will delay. We can not choose USCIS people, so we can only wait. But it is only a short time in the long process of life. Let's strive to keep feeling good in everyone, let's get over it 😊

I am going to call USCIS unless I received NOA 2 after one month from the last day of approval shown in my timeline.

Good luck to all filers 🤗

Today's update - 121/313 May I-129F/CSC filer timelines here at VJ have a NOA2 date listed; 11 RFEs excluding one that looks like a data entry error. So almost 39% approved, and a little over 42% acted on.

RFE people, i know its scary and frustrating, but an RFE is a GOOD thing, SOMEONE is looking at YOUR case. And most RFE's are very simple to take care of :)

Agree completely. My fiancee' was denied a tourist visa 2x early this year because she (by US standards, or comparative Kuwaiti standards) is below the poverty line by a lot, and she spends every penny she has to put her youngest brothers through high school and pay for their moto.

I think she is caught in a little despair/doubt right now, thinking that we are going to go through this whole process only to end up crushed with another pink piece of paper from the consulate. Not really sure what I can do in the meantime except reassure and bring chocolates. Open to ideas and suggestions... Already ordered her a "1st winter coat" for her, delivering soon.
