That's main thing. There can be quite a few reasons for delays or long processing times.

Can depend on the overall workload of the office, workload of person who actually does get your case (do they then take time off, sick days, ect). Are they perhaps just slower than others? Some I've heard can work from home also or extra time to finish up some packets.

Possible checks on the USC are also delays as something may have come up on their background checks.

As long as you are in the "normal" processing times for USCIS then, you can call and inquire; but don't think you'll get the exact answer you are wanting to hear from Tier 1 or 2.

Wow you guys were approved in 48 days!!!!!!!!! That is a miracle!

Trying to understand how uscis works is like trying to figure out a difficult math problem on a test with only 10 seconds left to go and your life depended on it!!

Process was a lot faster 1-2 years back. USCIS then projected think 3-5 months, where as now it's 5-7. Each case, like has been said is unique. A lot depends on the information given, is it all very simple and straight forward?

Ours for instance was simple, neither ever married, no kids, no previous petitions, no criminal history on either side, I am former military so my background check tends to clear pretty quickly. Our petition was small and simple. All required documents, 5-6 photos, about 6 pages of texts showing timeline of communication...  Now, for Philippines and a lot of other countries a lot isn't really needed in the petition; but a lot of people still send in literally a brick petition, the ones who put 100 pages of texts and photos. That probably takes the poor person reviewing it a lot of time to go through everything. That can also cause some of the delays. Imagine, your 20 page petition packet is sitting there and infront of it is 10 other petitions containing 150-200 pages of information.  That's hwy here is always recommended unless you'll be dealing with a 'high fraud' embassy later, don't over do the I-129f petition, keep it simple. Sometimes "too much information" is a bad thing you know.

I am right there with you... it's  difficult because we can't do anything. I am so stressed out that i have a constant migrane...

My poor fiance was ao stressed out this morning when i spoke to him.

I’ve been at this waiting thing for awhile now (321 days) and as hard as it is, I try not to focus on it too much because otherwise I’m going to make myself crazy. It has been really hard on us so I get it...but I remind myself that a lot of this is out of my hands. I’m trying to stay positive and keep making inquiries and contacting my congresswoman...etc. I’ve also contacted the Ombudsman and was told it would take 45 days for a response...it’s now 60 and when I called them they said they’d send it to a supervisor...there has to be a light at the end of this tunnel soon

At this stage, despite the wait which is of course difficult,. this is the easy part of the process. Embassy level and interview can be the most strenuous for some. Rushing for medical, get affidavit of support and ongoing relationship proof, their police report(s) and all... then interview itself.

200 may be low, 300 days seems a better marker. We have a few 300 champions like KBA and the recently approved Lydia.

Yes i am aware of their situation... to be honest i can't imagine that and what they went through. This has been a really difficult process for all of us.

As much as it sucks, there are people who have been waiting from June and July still.

I hope that you guys get your answers soon. I certainly don't miss the anticipation.

That's why it scares me.... all of these people waiting for almost a year... i know there is a light at the end of this tunnel..but i find it helpful when people share their frustration with people who understand and relate.

Like i said yesterday i admire botg you and your fiance's will and patience. However, it's just so unfair so unfair that they keep giving you a bullshit answer and dragged it out for this long. It's not like you are getting this done for free.. we pay for this service so we should at least expect some sort of transparency

I agree...total BS 🙄 if they’re going to deny or send an RFE, I feel like they’ve had plenty of time to figure that out. They are keeping our lives on hold and it’s ridiculous

I feel like what you told me might be the reason for delay might actually be that reason. Ive noticed people who are waiting longer from certain countries like algeria, armenia, etc without as much as an rfe. Or if they ve traveled a lot and traveled to certain countries which are considered "high terrorism countries" are taking a lot longer...

I know it's case by case but i am just tryibg to understand the pattern here for delayed responses..
