i got a question how long will take them to change my status from refuse to AP ?

At the interview did they ask you to submit any additional documentation? I have seen some people have to submit the 9965, some people have to answer 10 question, but as soon as that information is submitted, the status changes to AP within a few days

I recommend that you email them the answers again and ask them to confirm that they received your email. I know a guy who sent the answers and waited for 4 months and when he followed up with them through the congressman, they told him that the records show that he was asked to send the answers to the question and that they were still waiting for the info!

So it seems sometimes emails fall between the cracks!

I sent them three emails until they responded to me confirming that they got my answers.

Good luck

Since they are putting everyone from travel ban countries into AP, we should start tracking this more. There is already a group of people stuck in AP from various diff countries, They are making a list here:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1agwbg4go7ID6wnoNg-mN2qOI_ErRQN1lO1BUzOUKkTs/edit?usp=sharing

We should add our info to it. Atleast that way we can track who is taking how long.

Sorry Roel, but I have to say that is not right.... they are issuing the visas for Syrian passports... my mother just got hers 2 weeks ago...8/8/2018...

If you look at her visa, under annotation, do you see something like "Presidential Proclamation Waived" OR "Exception under proclamation"

mid-July 2018 and she applied for a visit visa ...no need for a waiver.

last week, we got the visa stamp on her Syrian passport.

Reg

Is she above the age of 65? If so, she does not need a donkey SAO. That means they will give her a visa on the spot if she is otherwise qualified even if she is from travel ban country.  The Nat Sec determination can be made by the consul for people who are under 16 and over 65 according to the cable from the state dept I read. This also explains why they gave the yemeni kids thevisa but didnt give to their mom. Mom has to go through AP. Donkey SAO.

So this is another good sign, that they are not denying the "undue hardship" on basis of  "defeat the purpose of travel"

Lol, as many times as I have typed it, every time I type Donkey SAO, I chuckle a little bit.

I don't know why people are so pessimistic about the visa thing for Syrians. My mother in law just got her visit visa 2 weeks ago with no questions asks and my nephew just got his renewal student visa one month ago. my brother in law just took a flight with his family all Syrian passport holders on a visit visa to the US.

and I am waiting on my immigrant visa stamp after the administrative processing time that "should take around few weeks" based on my conversation with the counselor in Abu Dhabi the US embassy.

All these are done in this period of  July and August of 2018.

so, come on and stop being pessimistic... guys!!

Hi Khouloud,

I was wondering if there's any updates on your visa??
