RFE for Stepchild petition I-130

I am petitioning my stepchild who is 15 years old. Today I received an RFE that is asking me to send my birth certificate (Petitioner).  I didn't send it with the application  because I sent a copy of my US passport and a copy of my certificate of naturalization to prove my citizenship.  I will send it right away but I'm just curious if sending the birth certificate of the petitioner is a requirement for a step child petition?

Hhhmmm that’s odd. Usually to prove step parent relationship it’s the stepchild’ BC and the bio parent and step parent’s MC that’s required.

Yes, that's why I didn't send it but now they are asking for it.
