Hi guys,

my husband is coming over to Germany in 8 days and is gonna stay with me for over a month :) We are somewhat expecting things to be moving along soon, so I have a few questions about NVC stuff.. We'll have his parents taking care of some things while he's gone. I would greatly appreciate it if you could help us out!

1. What shipping methods are accepted by the NVC? (I remember that some aren't accepted but can't remember which). Concerning the IV bill and AOS bill, how did you send yours in? For us, it doesn't have to be quick (so overnight delivery isn't necessary), but I'd like to have some sort of confirmation that the NVC received it.

2. What exactly comes with the AOS bill and IV bill? Is it really just a coversheet with a barcode that has to be cut in half and attached to the money order? Or does anything have to be signed or whatever?

3. On the money orders: Who do they have to be made payable to? What else has to be written on them (NVC case number etc)? The AOS bill is $70 and then IV bill is $380, right?

4. Do the fee bills come with return envelopes?

I think that's all for now. I would REALLY appreciate it if you could help us! Thanks.

Answer 1. His parents should use the United States Postal Service its like 14 dollers and its the only one that ships overnight to a PO box I suggest always using over night because in total you can waste about a month in mailing time.

and you just go into the post office tell them you want to overnight to a PO box and they will tell you what you have to fill out then you pay the 14 dollers and the next day after 5 you can check on USPS.com using your tracking number. also i suggest getting the Money order at the post office to i read some where that the NVC likes the Post office money orders better.

Answer 2. The Aos Bill Comes with the choice of agent and its just a page that you can tear the bottom part which comes with a baecode and mail it back. it also comes with a page that tells you there contact information and stuff and the IV Fee Bill is the same but the barcode looks diffirent.

Answer 3. The money order have to be made out to The Department of State. and all you need to put is you case # on it. yes its $70 for AOS and $380 for IV bill

Answer 4. Yes they come with a envelope but you dont have to use it if you send it Priority overnight just use the post offices envelope.

Hope this helps

Miriam, thank you for your answers.

Well, as I said we won't be using overnight delivery because at that point, we don't have to save any time. So we just want to use regular mail with some sort of delivery confirmation.

Anybody else would like to add something?

Sure. Just use first class mail with delivery confirmation. You'll get a tracking number and can get the confirmation on the internet. It requires a trip to the post office and costs two or three bucks.

somewhat on topic here... when you say IV bill, is that for the DS-3032? if so, is that fee the same no matter what country the visa applicant is coming from; if not, where can i find out how much it would be for a Canadian citizen? sorry for the questions...

thx!

the fee is the same regardless of your country. IV bill is for the application for Immigrant Visa, the DS-230. The DS-3032 is the choice of agent form. The forms required to be sent to the NVC are the only thing that varies by country of origin.

I sure will. So far nothing's happened. NVC received my case, assigned me a case # and I've been calling every day twice a day to find out when they'll be generating the DS-3032 and AOS bill, but nothing yet.
