N-400 Post-Interview RFE online submission

Hello All,

Hoping for guidance from the community. I had my N-400 Citizenship interview today and after the interview, the officer notified that she will not be able to make a decision at this time because I needed to submit a Police Report along with the Cancellation of Warrant from the court that I had submitted for a traffic violation (failure to appear for summons). Very frustrating and nerve wracking.

I can see that the RFE was posted on the USCIS status website but the document is not visible yet. With a little bit of digging in the forums, I found out that it'll only be available for viewing pleasure tomorrow, after I guess the server gets updated, taking its sweet time. But I can see that there is a way to respond to the RFE and to upload documents! Very exciting. Does anyone have experience with this? Has anyone uploaded RFE related documents before and had success. Should I wait for this RFE to arrive via snail mail, bite the bullet and respond through physical means? Because I would love to just upload, and pray that the upload triggers a red blinker upon the IO's desk to adjudicate this urgently.

Much ... much ... appreciate your sharing any experience with this.

If I were you,  I would wait for the actual RFE letter to appear in your account first.  Normally will appear within 24 hours or so.

This way, you can be sure you are giving them exactly what they are specifically requesting, as you only have the 1 opportunity to respond in full.

The IO told you verbally what they need, however the letter may ask for something additional as well.

Thanks Going Through! I will definitely wait and see the actual RFE posted tomorrow. But what I'm looking for is anyone's experience in submitting the RFE online. Has anyone done this before with success, or is it just going to send the documents to cyber-space never to be looked at by anyone ever again? :clock:

You are overthinking it. :D Relax. It will work out just fine. Sometimes it's a little slower than we all would like but eventually gets done.

What I post here is merely my personal opinion and not a valid legal advice and should not be viewed as such.

At a certain point we need to trust the process and *new* online tool. I was encouraged that after submitting our n400 app that there was a mechanism to upload further documents which we had forgot on the 1st iteration. Now in the Documents section these last 2 uploaded documents can be seen at the very top of the list.

So yeah, i would guess that your RFE documents will appear for whoever is examining your application and they will take appropriate action.

You're right. But then there are stories of things going southward -- not that there is anything wrong with the southern cardinal direction by any means -- with clumsy USCIS hands. I'm not a big fan of this waiting game. Didn't expect an RFE

Thanks Russ&Caro.

There is nothing left for me to do than to go for a run right now to steam it off, I guess. And to try not to be awake the whole night biting toe nails in despair. As soon as that RFE is visible, I'll proceed to dump a massive list of very detailed explanatory documents upon the confines of USCIS and leave no loopholes for them to come up with a new attack!

Until then, we all wait ....

Good idea. I'm a runner myself. Sometimes at the worst times of my life I've cleared my head by going for a run... even in the rain.

Finally am able to view the RFE. They have requested quite a few certified copies so I'm gonna go with snail mail and mail them physical documents. Thanks for your support everyone!

Hi! I have the same issue, I got the letter of continuance and it says i only have one chance to do it. I tried to click the one on the left side and it leads me to the letter. And I just printed the letter and will send them through mail today.
