We will be starting DCF this month in Manila and since I haven't worked since moving here with my husband in August my dad was going to be a joint sponsor for him. My question is since I still have to file a DS-260 do I have to pay the fee twice? My husband works of course, but he will be transferring to the US offices of his company so technically he isn't keeping the same position so his income wouldn't be eligible. It's been a long time since I started researching this, so maybe someone answered this before. Sorry to have to repeat it if so.

Hi,

We just did the DCF last monday and waiting for approval. How much is the total cost doing the dcf?

If I remember correctly:

  • $535 when filing the I130
  • The medical depends on the country, according to http://www.slec.ph/us-visa-applicants.shtml it comes out to around $330. The hospital might charge more based on the results
  • $325 for the immigrant visa fee (paid at the embassy during the interview)
  • $220 green card fee (paid after you have received your visa, if you don't pay this fee then you won't receive the physical green card).

So around $1410 total

DCF Mexico

06/04/2017: Married

06/24/2017: Mailed I-130

06/27/2017: NOA1 (technically a RFE as we were missing beneficiary ID)

07/06/2017: NOA2

07/12/2017: Case assigned by Juarez embassy

07/17/2017: Packet 3 received

08/15/2017: Interview/Approval!

08/22/2017: Visa received via DHL

09/03/2017: POE

09/16/2017: Permanent Resident Card received

Total days from NOA1 to approval: 49

Thanks a lot. We will prepare all the other documents we need while waiting for the approval of petition. Atleast we have an idea now. How long did it take till receive your approval?

Here in the Philippines it takes less than 2 months if all is good without 221g. I will file DCF next month or in July for my stepdaughter after approval of my wife's first I filed in the States by mistake. There were miscommunication between the desk officer and me in 2nd floor by SSA section. I thought it was only for 13a visa residents. Damn xxxx! Good luck to you! :D
