A lot of small businesses in the Philippines declare a different amount in the Income Tax Return from the actual income.

I was wondering if anybody can give advise on this? I'm planning to get my Tourist visa and am having trouble what to put in monthly income in form DS-160. Will it be okay to just say the actual income and show the bank statement? Will they be able to know the contents of the ITR on their records/ will they require me to show it to them? How can you explain the discrepancy and would they usually understand the circumstances?

Thank you!

The US Embassy does not ask for proof of income when applying for a B2 tourist visa. What you put on the DS160 is all they would look at. No additional document is required.

There’s no question there about monthly income (my parents applied and they are retired so maybe that’s why I don’t see a monthly income question on their DS160).

Good luck!

Thank  you for the reply! I think the question appears on the form if you select that you have work.

So I can just say my actual income and it would be enough? I've prepared my ITR, bank statement and last month's checks just in case. I hope that's enough proof. But I don't want to show the ITR at all because I'd have to explain the discrepancy (and don't know how to do that).
