Hitler and Stalin were wrong on many things, but then again so are you. That in itself doesn't make you a bad person. Hitler and Stalin were evil people in positions of great power, which amplified everything they did. If Hitler hadn't been a leader of a country, he would likely have just have been another rambling guy trying to keep out of an insane asylum. With all tyrants, it is that way.

So first you say everyone is mostly right. Then you say Hitler and Stalin were wrong on many things. Which one is it? You can't have it both ways

and oddly enough all 10 were personal opinion with not one fact in the whole list that was opinion. It must be rough to hate someone so much and have no clue why.

Because he has an R in front of his name. That's why.

Of course you can. Use that logic you always talk about.

Hitler could have been 57% right. He would still be wrong on many things and also still be considered mostly right. He would also have still been capable of great evil and malice due to his position. Come on man, it's not that hard. It's actually pretty hard for a human being to be wrong more than half the time on a consistent basis.

I would be interested in knowing in your opinion what Hitler and Stalin got right versus what they got wrong and how in the end they were "mostly right".

I beg to differ. I read this board daily

I am not a student of either. You were asking how it could be possible to be mostly right and still get many things wrong so I gave you an example.

Filmmaker Michael Moore argued Saturday that socialist philosopher Karl Marx had it just about right, and wished him a happy birthday.

No. I'm saying that I disagree with you that Hitler and Stalin were mostly right. I say they were mostly wrong. I'm asking you to defend your position that they were mostly right.

Actually, you brought up Hitler and Stalin. I made a generalized statement that all people are right most of the time. I was not talking specifically about ones politics or dogma or philosophy. However, I invite you to go ahead and defend your position if it is important to you.

For example, did Hitler not wash his hands after going to the restroom? That would be wrong. Did he brush his teeth after meals? That would be right. Keep going if this is important to you. (I assume it is, again, since you are the one who brought it up). I would have to research the mundane details of both to engage in this, and frankly, I don't find this discussion all that engaging to begin with.

To continue on the generalized theme I started though, most people would not make it through life if they were not right about most things. Darwin proved that. I think you will have a hard time with this.

The whole holocaust thing pretty much puts Hitler in the mostly wrong. Just by itself

I did say it was all about the things people get wrong. Hitler got more than that wrong, but obviously the Holocaust was the most infamous act of an evil man.

Of course, but the few good things that happened were only a fraction of the pure evil

Nice red herring there but you know full well Moore's comments and this thread are in the context of policy decisions. Not to mention as others have pointed out the Halocaust pretty much overshadows everything Hitler did in his life no matter how mundane as a wrong thing. In other words anything "right" Hitler did in his entire life is extremely small compared to the wrong of the Halocaust. So you lose the argument whether the context is policy or the whole of Hitler's life. Care to disagree with that?
