Thank you all so much for the tip about contacting the Dept of State. I called today. The wait was only about 10 min on the phone and apparently it was a free call cuz i did it from my cell which doesn't pay state to state long distance. As soon as I gave our London case no. and my fiance's name, they told me our interview was just scheduled today for NOVEMBER 6th! And that we'd receive info in about a week-week and a half.

yipppppeeeeee!

Wow! After reading how everyone has been able to find their interview date by calling the helplines I decided to pull my finger out and do the same. Being suddenly impatient (didn't want to wait until the Dept of State's line might be open) and thinking damn the expense (but then I am staying at my Mum's so afer all it's her phone bill) I called the extortion line. I was told that my packet 4 had been sent on October 9th and my interview date is October 24th. Wow! Surely some mistake, I thought. I really wasn't expecting an interview that fast. There I was all psyched up for it to be scheduled early November at the very earliest.

Congrats to all who are getting interview dates and glad the state dept thing is working for us...

We got back from Tenerife at 3am today and we are busy cleaning up our rented house here in England ready for landlord's inspection tomorrow.

We leave Thursday for the London interview on Friday. Hope the couriers deliver on a Saturday !

Also busy signing up blind for an apartment in Tampa and finalising purchase of my new 268 horse power wheels ! Good job global warming doesn't apply in the U.S.

If Friday is a refusal/disaster there will be a lot of back-tracking !

As soon as my head stops spinning I will update the interviews in October/November table

Can't wait to get to Florida and start my letters to the USCIS about the wrong kind of green card/wrong name etc which is bound to happen, and thats if its delivered to the correct address - i am a one drop in the glass type of person at the moment...

I called the State Department today and they said my interview was set for 7th November at 8:30.   At least I will know what to do about the lease on my flat :) . Hopefully I can just let it lapse because the renewal period is 6 months. I hope I get packet 3 before my medical so I can fill in the medical questionaire. I couldn't find one of those on VJ, just the checklist.

7th November is my 60th birthday and the anniversary of the Russian revolution and independance day for pakistan and india

excellent day - can't go wrong !

The medical questionnaire is a 60 second piece of cake - you say no to everything unless you have flesh eating ebola virus...

a bit like the ds-230 'have you ever been the commandant of a Nazi death camp or a FARQ guerrilla ' etc....
