United Kingdom Interview Thread 2007

I am now officially in panic mode. I have all my extra evidence gathered to send over to Neal, and my affidavit. But I still need to get all the paperwork from my co-sponsor. I probably should have gotten that already, but I was worried if I did it too soon, and then our interview was way in the future, it would be out of date. I was originally going to use my dad as a cosponsor, but since he owns a business and most of his income is from investments, it seemed it would be a bit tricky going that route, what with all the supporting evidence he'd need. So my uncle agreed to do it, since he is employed as an engineer and earns a good income from his employer (and my aunt, who used to work in an immigration attorney's office, said it would be easier). But my aunt is also heavily pregnant and due any day (official due date is July 29), so I am paranoid that things will get crazier and now the affidavit won't get done in time. Eek!

Sorry, just had to rant. I hate being such a worrier!

Neal got his appointment letter yesterday. His interview is indeed August 7 at 9:30 AM (I had forgotten the time).

3 weeks now since I sent packet 3 so i'm getting excited about the imminent arrival of my packet 4 (fingers crossed).

I put on a travel date of Oct 10 and a wedding date of Oct 30, so it will be interesting to see when they schedule my interview and see if it corresponds with the travel date at all. I have a job here until Oct 1st so I don't mind if it is a late Sep interview, but if they give me an early Sep interview I might bring my travel plans forward a bit - or I might take a couple of weeks to do some travelling around Wales, see some friends and family - I figure I better do it now as I probably won't be coming back too much.

I just hope the postal strikes and the floods don't cause too many problems - I'd hate to think my packet 4 is floating around a flood plain somewhere!

Quick update on the above - just sent an email to the London embassy, about an hour later they replied with the following:

"The Embassy has received all your required forms, and you have been listed as eligible for a visa interview. You should expect to receive written notice of the time and date of your visa interview within the next few weeks."

Oooh should be soon then! Oh - by the way - we actually did receive our P4 on 7/11. Was just a bit anticlimactic since we already knew the date! :lol:

I have been given this same message since July 16. Everything in good order, just waiting for notification of date. When I spoke to someone yesterday, I was told it could be another 6 to 8 weeks before I hear from London again with the date notification... This can't be true can it?? :crying:

Anyone know of ANYTHING I can do??

Your timeline being updated would be most helpful, essjay.

At one point last summer, IIRC, it was taking about 8-12 weeks to hear about an interview. Its quite possible we've hit that slowdown again.

Sorry TracyTN about the timeline. I haven't done one properly as I am a bit hazy on some of the dates as we are using a lawyer. This may be completely the wrong thread so apologies to everyone if it is, but my dates are as follows:

Filed DCF London 19 March

Approval 15 June

Medical 25 June

Pkt 3 returned to Embassy 29 June

Documents processed for interview scheduling 16 July

Please London, please be quick!!
