in the I-130 assembly packet checklist, it said to include front AND back copies of USC birth certificate

but in the I-130 form, it didn't really specify front AND back copies

also, my husband's birth certificate (certified copy from civil registry) has nothing written at the back

i was insisting that he should submit a copy of the back page too (i read the step-by-step guide)

he said if he were to submit a copy of the back page, he might as well just slip a clean sheet of paper

what exactly are they looking for at the back page?

at any rate, he submitted the I-130 petition already

and i'm just wondering, really

My birth certificate also was blank on the back. I just submitted a photocopy of the front page, and wrote at the bottom that the back was blank. As both our I-129F and I-130 petitions have been approved, I wouldn't worry about this. I agree with your husband, you might as well insert a blank page. Good luck to you both.

Inserting a blank page will accomplish nothing. On my cover letter, I listed my birth certificate as "Photocopy of Petitioner's Certified Birth Certificate. (A one-sided document)

They want both sides if there ARE two sides. Sometimes vital information or disclaimers are on the back side.

neenuh,

If the back side of a document is blank, and one makes a photocopy of the front side, then one also has a copy of the back side. If you don't believe me, turn the original and the photocopy over - they both look the same do they not?

If you want to be sure to avoid confusion, write on the back of the photocopy 'this side blank on the original'.

It is no big deal. They know that the birth certificate's back side is blank. It is general statement from their part that send copy of the both sides which is applicable to any document where it contains information on both front and back sides.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview
