Are X-ray results asked from CR1 visa holders at POE?? My POE is LAX.

How long does it take one to go through immigration and customs at LAX for those arriving in the evening? My ETA is @740pm. Would a 2 1/2-hr. layover enough for me to get to my connecting flight?

It all depends on how many arriving international flights are arriving through the PoE. You might get through in 20 minutes or 2 hours.

I would leave yourself a few more hours than that just to be on the safe side.

You must have your x-ray with you at the POE. How long you gonna stay at the immigration? Depends of the how busy is at that moment, like other people say it can be between 20 min to 1h 30 min. Good luck!

We bought the ticket for my SO with a 3 hour connection. It may sound like a lot of time but I have been on the line for 2 hours when a bunch of international flights arrived at the same time. He'll be coming to Chicago. Plus you have to check your baggage again.

I recommend a connection with enough time that you don't need to be stressed. Sometimes POE officers can get really chatty...

They didnt ask for my X-ray result in LAX. my connecting flight was Delta airline. I used PAL from Manila to LAX. I'm sure 2 1/2 hrs is enough to get to the next flight. make sure you just go immediately to the next terminal and pass through the next security check. Don't be shy to ask help from airport security staffs.

The only time Claudeth needed her xray was when we went to the civil surgeon, they wanted to do a new xray so we showed them the one from her medical.

Claudeth took about 45 minutes going through customs in LAX and that was due to a number of flights arriving at the same time.

The consulate in Montreal told me explicitly that it wouldn't be asked for at POE and that it was only for the reference of my new US Dr. I was told to give it to him/her upon my arrival for comparison if I ever had another x-ray.

I was specifically told at my interview that I could 'pack it (the x-ray) in your suitcase or throw it away, it's up to you!'

My wife -- she was my fiance then -- for sure had to bring the X-ray from her pre-visa medical exam when she entered the USA. It was in the mysterious "sealed envelope". Why? Don't know. The POE people gave it to us. Right now, it is sitting at home and, I'm sure, we'll soon have another one will join it in a few months.
