Yes.  General rule-of-thumb is to spend more time inside the US than outside per year when you hold a GC.

One time you may get away with just her receiving a stern lecture at the border.

The second or third time, you will have the officer correctly presuming that she's not actually residing in the US as her main domicile and instead using the GC as a sort of "glorified tourist visa".

My wife and I are in Utah legally (she has a green card). We plan on moving to Nepal on a permanent basis in just under 3 years. To do that she needs to maintain her citizenship there.  My question is if we can show that we have our permanent residence abroad can she get a visitors visa for the US so that we an visit family once a year for a month or two???

I have heard that they don't let spouses do that if one or the other is a citizen..

Unsure why jump through the many hoops you did to get her immigrant visa, only to want a visitor visa..

We wanted her to come live in the US with me while we are married and to learn things here in the US.  We work with refugees here in Salt Lake but our real mission in life lies in Nepal and the 209+ children we are educating in the slums there.

In just under 3 years we should make the move to Nepal leaving the US forever other than visits to family.

We will have had five years here in USA together and that is what I said I would do as I try and wrap up my businesses and get ready to move to Nepal where we can do the most good.

IF dual citizenship were possible we would do that but it's not in Nepal and they won't let her have both so we have to work with what we have in order to make the world a better place instead of seeking easy life here.. ;)

I would suggest that you apply for a travel document for her which will protect her green card for a couple of years.  After that, she can surrender her green card to the embassy or consulate in Nepal and trade it in for a B visa.

What I saw a couple of times in the Mideast was make an appt for a B visa, bring the surrender docs and green card in, and surrender it at the interview.  It works.
