Hi,

I remember when I was in the process of Adjustment of status a few years ago I had to get someone to sign a form for me who known me for at least 2 years. They had to be in a list of professions required by USCIS. My referee was a nurse. I forgot the form name of the form (does anyone know?). Now since I am going to apply for US citizenship in a year or so, is this also a requirement? I mean do USCIS requires a Referee to fill in a form or sign the back of my photos? Someone who knows me lets say for 2, 3 or 5 years? I am asking this because since I've moved to US we've lived in the same house and some of our neighbors know me well but we are thinking of moving to another state where we know no-one and I am worried when the time comes for my naturalization I may not have access to people who can confirm they know me for 2 or 3 or 5 years and sign any forms which may be required. Can anyone help please?

Thanks!

Thanks!

You certainly don't need a character reference. My lawyer never asked for one during the N400 application.

What I post here is merely my personal opinion and not a valid legal advice and should not be viewed as such.
