         I hope this officer is figuring out how to collect UI right about now, 'cause he shouldn't ever be working in LE again.

i am not impressed with this police officer.  he had no clue what was going on and then

chose to escalate the issue over something costing less than $2.

The cashier should have intervened in the first place. Until the officer asked him if he paid for it, he kept his silence.

  The cashier could have been more helpful, but I imagine he was in shock too. My reaction to seeing a gun pulled over a pack of mentos would most likely be that the officer was insane.

   Seems a simple "did you pay for that" would have been more than sufficient.
