I was wondering where the $3,000 went.

I am planning on going to Nigeria to get married and come back to the U.S. and apply for him to come. I do have concerns about my fiance coming to the states. We have never met in person but we met online 3 years ago. Only thing we have proof of our relationship is texting and calling the last 3 years. He tried to come twice already and I got scammed out of $3000.00 Plus he got arrested because someone gave him a false plane ticket to China. Do we still have a chance.  He also tried going through  Canada got denied there too because too many people was going at one time. I was told he better not try anymore before he lose his chances. Please respond back, please and thank you.

Hey, the truth is bitter but i have to be very opened with you. The whole thing has been a scam right from the start. The trending scam in Nigeria which is regrettably my country is the dating scam. I almost fell a victim myself. They are jobless and dedicate all their time to you and you probably confuse their fraudulent conspiracy for affection. You are wrong. If you want to confirm genuineness of his claim, tell him to scan a copy of his last DS-160 to you, you can call the consulate  or department of homeland security if that is really a genuine application number. You've already lost $300 to this scam, i bet you will lose much more if you dont back out right now. They even go the extent of seeking metaphysical power just to forcibly make you concur to their demands without alerting anyone. I wont be surprised if you dont come back or reply any one who has tried to caution you. they probably hypnotized you already. Sorry!

I'm Nigerian as well but yes I agree with you.... She's lost $3000.00 I wonder how much more she wants to lose before she actually gets it and run for her life.

Nigeria is a very broken country.  The British left it half a century ago and I think they forgot to leave the repair manuals behind.  Yes there are some areas that area OK but usually as soon as the new  wears off it quickly starts falling about.   I would suggest you read the book  " I do not come to you by chance"  and then look up the group https://www.romancescam.com/    If you are still convinced that you are dealing with the real thing proceed slowly.  Nigerians are known for bending rules to suit them and many don't give a second thought to spending hours online looking for a US person and convincing them to file for them so they can get to the US and in turn petition their spouse and children. (  Yes I did say spouse because the spouse will go into hiding for years if necessary to get that ticket to America )    It used to be that Nigeria was a country that could do the DV lottery and they have lost that path due to the number of people that immigrate here  ( if they could have lost it due to the amount of fraud it would have been out of the lottery decades ago )  and now the only path for the average Nigerian is romance, real of fake.   Be very careful.   Even if it i real the cultural differences can be a killer.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Biafra was 50 ish years ago, Independence nearly 60.

United  check in at Heathrow used to be next to a Nigerian Airline, never ever seen so much excess luggage.

You make it sound like every Nigerian is bad.....I've seen so many Americans happily married to Nigerians for many years with no problem..... Every country has its bad eggs.....there r so many men and women in VJ happily married to Nigerians and other part of Africa with no issues. If one person is found wanting, it doesn't mean every other person should suffer Because of that

Thank you.

Of course you can get bad eggs anywhere, the comment is about frequency.

To quote an Immigration Lawyer USCIS grades Consulates into 4 levels, Low, Moderate, High and Lagos.

He had set fees for most things, but not Lagos.

There are bad apples in every place, but in most countries you don't find rooms full of telemarketers of love with coaches and multiple phones plying their romantic interest for gain or hosting Facebook sights to help introduce the next victim to a friend back home once they get here. Don't call me out for what I say when I speak the truth.  I never said that all Nigerians are bad but there are signs of a scam that almost any Nigerian over the age of 10 can spot in posts here.   I find those that want to quiet me are usually those closest to that line of business.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

You paid $3000 for a guy you've never met? Was there a major natural disaster in Nigeria? Did you pay through a reputable charity? And now you want to marry him.

You totally deserve him. Wonders will never end...

If you are feeling that it is overwhelming you may want to seek out a competent immigration lawyer. At least get an initial consultation to get an idea of the process and obstacles you are facing.
