Hi everyone,

My fiancé and I have sent our application on March 30. Until now we haven’t heard anything from the USCIS. I’m worried because we paid with money order instead of a check so we don’t know if it’s been cashed or not. My fiancé forgot where he put the receipt so we can’t check the status online. He went to USCIS office in Dallas last Monday, they said it was “pending processing” what does that mean? Like is it on going process or they’re checking on something or what? It’s been more than a month and we still haven’t heard anything. Should I be worried? My fiancé is pretty busy so he can’t go to Dallas often. He forgot to ask the case number when he went there. What am I supposed to do? How can I contact them from overseas? Thank you.

It sounds like your fiance, the petitioner, is in the US, is this correct? If so, ask him to call USCIS (800-375-5283). Follow the prompts to check the status of the case, and there's an option to press if you don't know your case number.

I definitely recommend getting organized with this stuff. Make copies of everything. This is definitely not the process to be misplacing things, so get a good personal filing system in place or else the road ahead could be rough.

Yeah he is in the US. I was a student there, but then for some reasons, we decided to get a fiancé visa even though we could’ve gotten married. I told him to take a picture of it and text me but he forgot and he couldn’t find it. I will ask him to call them. He does need that because he’s not really good at it. I will help him with the filing system as his back up. Thank you for your response, I appreciate it :)

Hi @Amalia.sari

I'm the beneficiary and glad knowing there is Indonesian too here. My fiance sent the package on April 25th and we got our NOA 1 on April 30th. So I suppose they have received your petition too. Did your fiance attach form G-1145? So that he will receive text/email when USCIS has received your package.
