Hey all - this new I-134 piece is tripping me up (the photo is NOT my info, it's from the example form on VJ). The section is titled "Real Estate Information" specifically. My quesiton is for 8.b. - "I have mortages or other debts amounting to....". Does this apply to real estate ONLY or do I need to disclose other accumulated debt (like my substantial student loans....)? I just don't want to mistakenly provide incorrect information! Thanks in advance!

A lot of people have said here that since it's under the Real Estate section, you should only disclose debts related to that. My Fiancé has quite some debt, including car loans and credit cards, but we will not disclose this on the form. I think what they're trying to get at is to see if you have assets to compliment your income, in case you don't make the minimum.

I could be wrong, so someone please correct me if that's the case.

Thanks! I think that makes sense, I assume it's related to real estate too.... of course the last thing I want is USCIS saying I lied hahaha. I think I'll go the same route you did and not disclose my student loan debt.

Another option would be to disclose those debts in the additional information section, not under the Real Estate one :)

Hmm that's also a very good point. I wonder, are you submitting your banking statements at all? I can't decide if that's too much information or not. If they have my banking statements though they would clealry be able to see my student loan payments every month...

Just follow the form and answer what the form asks, believe me, if the US Government wanted to know about other debt, it would have a question about it.  The question specifically speaks to Real Estate, answer as such and include nothing else.
