So I have met my boyfriend oin 16th august 2017, we are applying for k1 visa on 16th august 2018, and plan our marriage on the 16th august 2019, I would like to know if I require any vaccinations, I live in the uk, and he lives in the usa, I heard somewhere before that since im from the UK i wont need any, but i want to confirm this is true, if so, how do i get the vaccinations? thanks

You have plenty of time to get the vaccines. You need to make sure you have a current MMR booster, a current Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis) and that's it. If you move here during flu season you will also need a current flu shot. I got everything from the GP at no additional cost. U.K. applicants don't need the varicella vaccine as it is not regularly available in the U.K.

I'm concerned about your timeframe. In order to achieve your wedding date you are giving yourselves exactly one year from mailing the initial petition to getting married. Based on current timescales and the trend that the process is taking longer and longer (people having their interviews in London now have taken 270 to 280 days to get to that stage and then you still need to wait for the passport to come back, get here and get married) it's possible you won't make that date. If the date of the wedding is important to you, best to get married first then start the CR-1 process so you can have the wedding date and location of your choosing (there are other advantages too).

Once your petition moves to your embassy you'll be told to have medical exam with doctors picked by the embassy.

Also don't make any solid plans about the wedding. You - should- have your visa by then, but currently the processing times are getting longer and longer...

I understand what you mean, the date of the wedding isnt very important, if we miss that date we will pick another date that is special like halloween, christmas, new years, easter or our birthdays etc, we just want it to be on a special day
